A magna cum laude graduate of UCLA, Cassandra Harte never
took a test she couldn’t ace. So when her home pregnancy
test comes back negative, she’s certain the kit’s defective. Failure has never been an option for Cassandra. She has a
well-established career, a handsome husband (Nick), and a
lovely home. But there’s one thing Cassandra desperately
wants that she doesn’t have: A baby. After trying for months
to get pregnant without success, she starts to wonder if
she’s finally met a challenge she cannot conquer. Determined
to conceive, she creates an ovulation calendar so she can
seize that perfect 24-hour window. When that fails, she
sends up fervent prayers. But it soon becomes apparent that
her inability to become pregnant has nothing to do with
timing or faith, and everything to do with Renee, her
diabolical, thirteen-year-old stepdaughter.

Re: The Baby in the Window
I would sure love to know more about Nick. He sounds wonderful! If a man loves a woman like Nick loves Cass, he is a good man in my book. (Melanie Backus 7:30am January 6, 2014)
You have to be the first Author I've known of who has gone through the lengths they have to come up with such a background for their characters. To me, it seems like excessive work to get information from Google, etc., but if it helps you to write your books, all the better!! Your characters sound very well-rounded, nonetheless, and I'm anxious to read about Nick, as well as Cass and the rest of the characters in your books. It sounds like I'll be taken on quite an emotional ride!! Congratulations on your books, and have a wonderful New Year!! (Peggy Roberson 8:59am January 6, 2014)
I want to meet this Nick that you are so invested in. (Sue Farrell 10:46am January 6, 2014)
Melanie Backus, thank you so much for your comment and I hope you get an opportunity to meet Nick. You definitely can if you pick up a copy of the first book in the series, "Married in the Nick of Nine," as well as the sequel, "The Baby in the Window." They're both available on Amazon. Happy New Year! (Alretha Thomas 11:42am January 6, 2014)
Perry Roberson, yes, I do put a lot into creating my characters. I really appreciate you taking the time to make comments. You're right, "Married in the Nick of Nine" and "The Baby in the Window" are emotional rollercoaster rides! Happy New Year and thank you for the congrats! (Alretha Thomas 11:43am January 6, 2014)
Sue Farrell, pick up copies of "Married in the Nick of Nine," and "The Baby in the Window" and you will get up close and personal encounters with Nick. Thank you so much for taking time to make a comment! (Alretha Thomas 11:45am January 6, 2014)
Fantasy is great. I dream about perfect men all the time. BUT...I've been married for 35 years to the same guy and I've never regretted it. No matter how much we might fight, I can't sleep without him at my back. So I'll take the real deal anytime! (Marcia Berbeza 12:45pm January 7, 2014)
Love the book descriptions for both book. The book I will read first is Married in Nick of Nine. Thanks (Kai Wong 11:26pm January 7, 2014)
