Julianne -
I loved your post having gone thru several life changing moments myself. First was when I was in my 20's at the birth of my first son who was born 4 weeks early with a colasped lung and the power of prayer. The next two were when I can to have cancer surgury and quadruple by-pass within 4 years of each other which gave me a new appreciation of life and frienships when I was in my 40's and 50's. All of these experiences made me realize the fragility of life and of living in the moment, appreciating every day and the love of family and friends.

Thanks for the oppportunity for the free download. Your story sounds like a peace of your soul.

Thank you for sharing your book with others. I'm sure it's going to be a powerful read. My life was taking one path when my Nieces were born - I was excited, and knew what I was here to show them, and help guide them on their journey, but we hit a fork in the road. lol Now, after a major loss, including the loss of my Mother, I have a new goal. I want to keep my Mother's memory alive through my knitting by making lapghans, and perhaps shawls and baby items, and taking them to senior homes and shelters in her name. I miss her very much, and there's more to it than that. Right now it's in the planning stages, and I have to get my yarn together. This has been a dream of mine for a little while, but after losing our house, we're still getting back on our feet. Thank you again for the book. Loved your blog today. It was fresh and invigorating, even if the topic isn't, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

What a generous offer. Thank you for the download.
It is a shame the publishing industry pigeonholes authors and has a hard
time seeing a different side of them. I've never understood the logic of
having an author change their name when writing in a different genre. They
claim it is not to confuse the reader. If I like the way an author writes in one
genre, there is a good chance I will like their writing in another. We aren't
always aware of different pen names and are missing out on something we
might enjoy. I am glad you finally got THE COLOR OF HEAVEN published.

I've heard the concept of near-death experiences, but haven't yet had the occasion happen to me. Each person who describes their ultimate yo-yo journey followed by an earth-bound return, looks to the receiver of the story to see how much they are believing or un-believing this strange aspect of being between worlds.

I wish that I had an e-reader to take advantage of your special offer!! Your book sounds wonderful, and I can't wait to read it!! After my Mother passed away, I know that she came back to see me and let me know that she was ok. She left different signals. She also comes back from time to time. I know that now she has things to do in her new life, but she still finds the time to visit me. For those that don't believe, perhaps they just need to open their minds a little, and be more observant to things and smells that are happening around them. They happen for a reason. I will be looking at the prior books in your series as well. Thank you for writing about this topic, albeit not the type of subject everyone clamors for. They usually want hot romance. lol

Congratulations on the success of The Color of Heaven! It is a wonderful love story. I've read it, loved it and did cry. A beautiful Mother's Day Gift.

Thank you for your post, E. V. I've read quite a bit about near-death experiences. I believe there's something going on---more than just a dying brain starved of oxygen, as some have theorized. But just what that might be, I'm not prepared to say. Yet.

Keep up the good work!

I already have your book but haven't had a chance to read it yet, partly because I recently suffered the death of my next-in-age-to-me brother of us four children. Though it was not a complete surprise--he had told us about probably having cancer in early November--but how quickly it occurred after his doctor had given him up to 18 months to live. However, there were problems with the biopsies that were supposed to be done. It was third time "lucky" and by then the cancer had spread to eight different areas. He was in agony when he died, 4 days after my birthday and 3 days after I last saw him. Unfortunately, we lived more than 2 hours apart and I had to rely on my next oldest sibling for transportation.

Yes, I believe in the "hereafter." As my friend and pastor was praying for our family over the phone after I confirmed the death, I had a brief vision of our parents welcoming W. to heaven. And if there really is no heaven, etc., what have we really lost by believing in it while we're on earth? And yes, I also believe there are also near-death experiences. Some are probably not true, but then, I'm sure that there are others that are not in the public domain.

I don't have a real eReader either. I just use a version that can be used on this computer. It works very well.

Julianne, I'm so pleased by the book's success. I had to restrict myself in buying your books for a while until I was able to get my old-age entitlements straightened out. I'm trying to get more e-books as some of them are cheaper in the US and definitely take up less space than a paper book.
