Hugh Whitman isn’t into Christmas. He always spends his holidays on the white sandy beaches of a tropical island. This year, the unexpected death of his aunt summons him to Snow Valley, the quaint mountain town where Christmas is the biggest event of the year. His plans for a quick trip are thwarted by a bothersome clause in Aunt Betty’s will requiring him to oversee her bookshop and extend his stay until after the holidays.
Tired from her grueling schedule as an emergency room doctor, and feeling every one of her almost fifty years, Allison James is looking forward to her upcoming two-week escape to Snow Valley for the holidays. She can’t wait to spend time with her grown daughter, Harper. They have plans to sip cocoa, decorate the tree, and partake in all the festivities at the Mistletoe Lodge that make her hometown the perfect place to celebrate Christmas.
While struggling to stay warm, Hugh runs into Harper at the local diner, and she ends up helping him navigate more than the wintry terrain. As they get to know each other, she begins to hatch a plan to introduce him to her mother, thinking they would make the perfect couple.
