Jess and Dean are both bruised, suffering from old regrets, and facing life-changing decisions. They bond over their shared circumstances and love of their golden retrievers.
Dean invites Jess to join him on a trip to the beautiful San Juan Islands, where he is moving to undertake a new career and life. Surprising herself, Jess agrees to the trip.
