Bobby Deen

Hundreds of patrons line up every day in front of the The Lady and Sons restaurant in Savannah, Ga., for just a glimpse of Paula Deen, but her sons Bobby and Jamie Deen have become stars in their own right. Whether appearing on their mother's show Paula's Home Cooking or co-authoring her bestseller Just Desserts, the Deen brothers have developed their own fan base.

The two brothers grew up in humble circumstances. With only two hundred dollars, the Deens launched a home-based lunch delivery service called The Bag Lady in June 1989. The business model was simple: their mother Paula Deen made the sandwiches, and the boys went out and sold them to local businesses.

Two years later, with The Bag Lady growing too much for a home-based operation, the Deens opened their first restaurant on Savannah's Southside called The Lady. Within five years, The Lady outgrew its small space, which led to the family moving to a larger location in January 1996. Renamed The Lady and Sons, the restaurant could now open her doors to faithful customers. What had started as homemade tuna fish sandwiches had become a downtown highlight in Savannah's City Market, satisfying celebrity clientele and thousands of Savannah visitors seeking out the Deen family's world-famous fried chicken.

Bobby and Jamie are now hosts of their own Food Network food and travel show, Road Tasted. Traveling the country to highlight small businesses, Bobby and Jamie educate viewers on how to find unique and interesting products that are rarely available. All products showcased on Road Tasted are available on the internet and can be ordered easily.

Bobby and Jamie Deen are currently working on a cookbook together while managing The Lady and Sons. Both reside in Savannah, Ga.
