BREAKING POINT is the second book I have read by Allison Brennan and the first solo Lucy Kincaid book. The book I read previously was SHATTERED in the Max Revere series, but Lucy Kincaid had a big role in the book as well. And, I know after reading SHATTERED that I needed to read more books by Allison Brennan. So, I was very pleased to get the latest Lucy Kincaid book.
In BREAKING POINT, FBI special agent Lucy Kincaid is asked by JT Caruso to help him find his sister Bella Caruso who has infiltrated a prostitution ring to find a missing girl. Bella herself was sold to a prostitution ring by her father when she was very young and has made it her life work to find and save girls in the same situation. But, this time has she been undercover for a year and it's getting more and more dangerous for her. The question is, will Lucy Kincaid be able to find her in time and is the young girl that is missing still alive?
One thing I noticed with SHATTERED and that is also noticeable about this book is how much effort Brennan puts in her stories, she really is fantastic when it comes to details, character development, and not to mention writing a compelling story that really moves you. BREAKING POINT is at its core a deeply unsettling story about how young girls are taken advantage by ruthless people.
I'm still very new to the Lucy Kincaid series, to all the characters, but I feel that with each book I get some more jigsaw pieces of information to add to the whole picture. One thing I enjoyed besides the case is Lucy's problem with her new boss. Enjoy is perhaps the wrong word, but nevertheless, it's a drama that gets the blood boiling since I can understand Lucy's frustration with not being trusted and having no field job because of the situation she is in. It comes to a head in this book, and it was about time.
As for Bella Caruso, this book may be part of the Lucy Kincaid series, but Bella has a large part as well. It was very intense reading about Bella's life as an undercover doctor as she could be revealed any second and that would be the end for her.
BREAKING POINT is a marvelous book and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the Lucy Kincaid series!

JT Caruso often worries about his sister, given her line of
