The Immortals After Dark series has been a long-time favourite of mine. With its dark intrigue, spectacularly detailed and vivid worldbuilding and sparkling characters, Kresley Cole has really redefined Paranormal Romance with this series. DARK SYKE, the fourteenth book in the series, is simply romance at its best.

There is only one thing that Melanthe loves more than gold and that is Thronos Talos, the Lord of the Skye. Bound together at a young age, the two forged a friendship that was unbreakable until a series of events made them enemies. Now, Lanthe runs from Thronos, desperate to escape his wrath. But when she is caught by him, Lanthe must not only protect her body from him, but also her heart.

Stunning from the very first page, Kresley Cole takes no prisoner as she goes full throttle to the finish line. I found myself glued to the pages devouring Lanthe and Throno's romance until there was nothing left.

As a lover of books and a romance reader at heart, I've come across several epic romances but none quite like this one. Cole weaves adventure, mystery and suspense in this wonderfully epic tale of true love. Emotions jump between hatred and love while the larger plot arc progresses, leaving readers excited and desperate for their next fix. Despite being the fourteenth book in the series, Cole doesn't show signs of slowing down. Each page is rife with her trademark humor and eloquent writing style, making it easy to get lost in the world she has created. If Thronos and Lanthe's story doesn't impress you, then I don't know what else will. With DARK SKYE, Kresley Cole proves why she is one of my favourite authors of all time.
