Amelia Snyder is about to save her very best friend.
Chad Walker is about to marry a woman he doesn't love, an
arranged marriage, a masquerate designed to coerce his
grandfather
to turn the reins of the Walker Company over to him. Ame
isn't about to let him sacrifice himself in a loveless
marriage, even though it's only for 6 months, to gain his
position in the company. Chad and Ame have been closest
confidantes and pals since grade school and virtually
inseparable. All grown now, it's been a year since she's
seen him, but her plan of snatching the groom don't go
per plan. Of course it never occurs to her the
groom-napping will go awry like everything she's involved
in.
Ame, a freelance photographer, hopped a plane from New
York and arrived in Sweet Creek to save Chad. Hijacking
the limo in front of the church, Ame steals the groom and
speeds away to a remote cabin in the mountains of
Tennessee, just purchased by her grandfather. Hopefully
this will restore reason in Chad's mind and bring him back
to reality. Chad, always with a plan, and Ame, flying
always by the seat of her pants, knows a romantic interlude
would not be possible. Everything goes wrong at the cabin
from a fire, cold weather and breaking and entering another
cabin. This quickly ends with both their grandfathers'
forcing a shotgun wedding. Chad is reluctantly going with
the plan as the intended bride has flown the coop and she
is the scapegoat. Ame is nothing, if not a frenzy of
trouble. If anything can go wrong, it's always following
her heels. During their farce of a marriage the truth is
finally revealed concerning their grandfathers' involvement
and blows their pretend marriage apart. However, not
before they both realize what they feel is real love.
Chad's realization was late in coming and not before Ame
has fled without saying where she was going. Chad is
devastated and has to find a way to mend things with Ame
and declare his undying love.
Sonya Weiss is a new author for me but one that will
definitely
be added to my "must read" list. I was completely taken in
from the first paragraph and couldn't put this book down
until the very last one. I loved this totally amusing and
funny story of two friends denying the love they feel.
Warm emotions mixed with chaos and misunderstandings keep
STEALING THE GROOM an exciting read. I can't wait to get my
hands on
another novel by Sonya Weiss. She is unbelievably talented
in her story telling with very original plots.
Friends don’t let friends marry the wrong woman… Chad Walker may be a take-no-chances man with a plan, but there’s no way Amelia Snyder is going to let her best bud marry Mean Girl #1—even if the wedding is solely so he can secure the controlling shares in his family’s company. But free-spirited Amelia’s at-the-altar groomnapping scheme takes a surprising turn when she ends up as the blushing bride instead. Suddenly, with Amelia living in her handsome husband’s home—in his bedroom, no less—she starts to reconsider their strictly platonic arrangement. But Chad’s always been strictly anti-risk and definitely anti-love, and betting a lifetime of best friendship on the chance at forever might be the biggest gamble of all.
