Still shocked and stunned with losing her job with the IRS,
ex-Special Agent Tara Holloway starts to realize that the
bills won't pay themselves and she needs to find a new
job. What can she do? Barely recovering from the internal
investigation that highlighted that she had gone against
policy when attacked and she should have shot to kill
instead of putting four bullets in Don Geils' legs, Tara
now finds out that the Department of Justice is ready to
charge her with excessive force for her action. Is Donald
Geils happy she saved his life? Ha! Taking advantage, the
lowlife even is suing her for millions!
As Tara's troubles and sorrows pile in through the door,
Tara's friends, family, pets and green tea ice cream all
strive to soften the blow for her. But old bosses and
Tara's new boyfriend, Special Agent Nick Pratt, can't
always be there to lend a hand. Nick gets called to Tokyo
and India and Tara's wings are clipped by all the legal
ensnarements. Even Lu "The Lobo" Lobozinski, her favourite
boss (now another ex) has to testify against her in court.
If she loses her court case, she would lose her CPA license
and then what could she do? Can she really manage to stay
out of trouble till her case is heard?
This is the sixth book in Diane Kelly's Tara Holloway
romantic mysteries series featuring the fabulous and feisty
Tara Holloway and it is a sure shot success! Fans of
Kelly's Tara Holloway as the IRS heroine books will swoon
with delight over DEATH, TAXES, AND GREEN TEA ICE CREAM!
Tara needs sympathy and who can blame the reader if you
feel the sudden urge to get your own supply of Green Tea
ice cream as you follow along on Tara and Nick's latest
adventures! So delicious (both the ice cream and
descriptions of hunky Nick)!
I find that Tara is a just such a wonderful and sassy
character: hardworking, kind, and generous with her family
and friends, yet full of salty and sexy wit as she fills
you in on the latest that is happening in her life. I am
sure that many of Tara's fans, including me, can imagine
what a hoot it would be if Tara is more real that she
really is! She would be just the friend you just want to
sit down with, crack some laughs and share in all the
trials and tribulations while drinking wine and savouring
the tantalizing taste of green tea ice cream.
Thank goodness for Diane Kelly for bringing her to life and
to the IRS! Kelly always manages to find a fresh supply of
IRS humour for us to laugh over, especially as Tara gets to
do a real audit on an old friend/enemy from high school
days. While part of a series, DEATH, TAXES, AND GREEN TEA
ICE CREAM also reads very well as a stand-alone sassy
romance and newbie fans will quickly love Tara Holloway's
quirky and feisty style and will want to gobble up all five
of the earlier books in the series. For a fun time with
the IRS, grab DEATH, TAXES, AND GREEN TEA ICE CREAM and
enjoy! You will be glad you did!
Fired. Tara Holloway can’t believe it. After all
she’s done for the IRS, a few too many shots fired from her
weapon and suddenly she’s public enemy number one. To add
insult to injury, another agent has replaced her, and a
ten-million-dollar assault case is hanging over her head. So
much for traveling to Tokyo with Special Agent Nick Pratt,
former partner and current boyfriend. Tara’s stuck in Texas,
and using green tea ice cream to soothe her disappointment,
as well as the terrifying prospect of a life behind bars.
Tara’s former boss, Lu “the Lobo” Lobozinski, has a plan—to
stick Tara in auditing, where she can’t possibly get into
trouble. But between bumping into a college frenemy whose
family business is under audit, Tara’s stubborn
determination to keep an eye on Nick behind the scenes, and
her new long-range rifle, she’s about to get a taste of just
how dangerous her life can be, in Death, Taxes, and Green
Tea Ice Cream from Diane Kelly…
