Special Agent for the Criminal Division of the IRS, Tara
Holloway has had a few bumps in her life and career.
Recently Tara had her head bashed in with a baseball bat by
a suspect. As a result of Tara's injury her undercover
coworker Nick Pratt couldn't hold his tongue. Turns out her
feelings for her secret crush are returned and they want to
see if there relationship has a chance. Unfortunately it's
not that easy since Tara has a boyfriend, Brett. Tara and
Brett decide they will have a trial separation and he will
see where things can go with a girl he met while Tara and
Nick see where their relationship goes. Of course there has
to be rules, first and foremost no sex with anyone during
the separation. Tara knows this rule will be one of the
most challenging to follow; Nick's kisses drive her wild.
On the business side of Tara's life she was under
investigation a few times due to her earning a reputation
for firing her weapon more than any IRS agent ever. Each
time Tara has fired her gun the investigation has shown the
shooting was justified but that doesn't make her boss
Lu "The Lobo" Lobozinski feel any better. As a result Lu
has a tendency to tell Tara not to shoot anyone today
whenever she heads out undercover. Tara and her partner
Eddie have two huge cases they are working on. One is
mostly all paperwork and auditing which Tara loves, she is
a numbers girl after all. The other has them working
undercover in a strip club alongside Nick and a DEA agent.
DEATH, TAXES AND HOT PINK LEG WARMERS, A Tara Holloway
Novel is lighthearted amusing fun. Author Diane Kelly
returns Special Agent Tara Holloway to the pages for her
fifth novel of the series. Tara is depicted as a strong,
independent and brilliant character,who never
disappoints the reader. Tara's IRS and undercover
adventures deliver amusing mischief. As Tara and Nick make
progress with their investigations and their relationship
they will be tested time and time again. Do Tara and Nick
have what it takes to make a future together or will Tara
choose to return to Brett? Can Tara solve her cases and
catch the criminals without shooting anyone? DEATH, TAXES
AND HOT PINK legwarmers will keep you guessing right until
the end.
It’s bad enough that Tara has to go on trial against the
mortgage-frauding “Tennis Racketeers” who cheated banks and
homeowners out of millions in between doubles matches. Now
she has to go undercover—in a strip club—to strip the
sleazeball owner of his indeed illegal livelihood. At least
she’s working as a bookkeeper, not a pole dancer. And who
needs tips when her undercover crush, Special Agent Nick, is
the club’s bodyguard?
With so many hot bodies on
display, Tara agrees to join her boss, Lu “the Lobo”
Lobozinski, in her daily workouts at the Y. Lu’s on a health
kick after recovering from cancer, and she’s pulled her
leotards, tights, and hot-pink leg warmers out of mothballs.
Which is okay with Tara. If she hopes to put Mr. Geils
behind bars, grab the tennis boys by the balls, and lock
lips with the unsuspecting Nick, she needs to be in the best
shape of her life…
