THE WANDERER by Robyn Carr is the first book in her new series, Thunder Point. Β If you are a fan of Robyn's Virgin River series this book will not disappoint. Β It is the story of Hank Cooper. Β The story takes place in Oregon where Coop goes to take care of business for a friend, Ben who has passed away. Β When he gets there he meets the local sheriff, Mac and his family. Β He also meets Landon, the high school quarterback who is having problems with the local punk. Β He also gets introduced to Landen's older sister Sarah. Β She has been raising Landon since he was five and their parents died. Β She is recently divorced and is afraid of letting go of her heart. Β Coop on the other hand has commitment issues and has never really given his heart to anyone. Β THE WANDERER is full of quirky charters who will keep you turning the pages.
Mac is very good friends with Gina. Β She is a single mom who works at the local diner. Mac is a single Dad who lives with his Aunt. Β Mac and Gina's daughters are best friends and do everything together. Β So Mac and Gina spend a lot of time together but as friends only. Β Mac is afraid to take it to the next level but Gina has loved him for years. Β Mac is afraid if things don't work out he will let Gina down and ruin their friendship. Β Gina is at the end of her rope, waiting for Mac to realize that they could have a good thing. So, she takes things into her own hands and this is where Mac goes crazy!
THE WANDERER was a very quick read and I really got wrapped up in all the things going on with all of these people in town. Β I have never been to Oregon but this book makes me want to go there now. Β It's a lot like the Virgin River series but with a new setting and really awesome and funny people. Β Thunder Point would be an awesome place to call home if only Hank Cooper would get over his fears and see what is right in front of his face. Β I love this new series. Robyn just has a way of pulling you right in and never letting go until the very last page. Β I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Nestled on the Oregon coast is a small town of rocky beaches
and rugged charm. Locals love the land's unspoiled beauty.
Developers see it as a potential gold mine. When newcomer
Hank Cooper learns he's been left an old friend's entire
beachfront property, he finds himself with a community's
destiny in his hands.
Cooper has never been a man to settle in one place, and
Thunder Point was supposed to be just another quick stop.
But Cooper finds himself getting involved with the town. And
with Sarah Dupre, a woman as complicated as she is beautiful.
With the whole town watching for his next move, Cooper has
to choose between his old life and a place full of new
possibilities. A place that just might be home.
