Focusing the crosshairs on the President of the United
States, Commander Gray Pierce, is ready to pull the
trigger. In the history of the United States, three
Presidents, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and James Monroe,
had all died on this date. Chance or coincidence? Moving
up to the podium at the July 4th picnic, President James T
Gant moves from his wife's side to make his speech. Will
he be the next to die?
In the five days before this event, Commander Gray Pierce
is still on family leave picking up the pieces of handling
his father's advancing dementia, especially after the cold-
blooded murder of his mother barely a month before. Calling
in his brother, Kenny, for help until 24 hour care could be
arranged, Gray has to deal with Kenny's anger as well as
his own need to get back at the Guild, a powerful shadow
organization whose trap for him inadvertently killed his
mother.
Unexpectedly, a Sigma team member and former assassin with
the Guild before changing sides, the sinewy and sexy
Seichan, arrived at his house looking for him. Director
Crowe needed him now. The President's pregnant daughter
had been kidnapped from a private yacht off the African
coast by pirates out of Somalia. Would he take on the
mission?
Well-known and highly regarded author, James Rollins, has
outdone himself in both the realism of his diverse setting
and exotic locations and by the powerful unfolding of the
plot in BLOODLINE, his latest scientifically oriented
suspense thriller. With a storyline focused on the search
for immortality, Rollins draws on a wide variety of sources
ranging from myths, historical and Biblical stories to the
latest in scientific research. The fast paced novel is
filled with neuro-robotic technology, organ trafficking,
killer robots and overzealous scientists who have left
ethics far behind while seeking their goals. The
characters, both male and female, are strong, smart, and
highly creative in handling adverse and highly dangerous
situations. I especially liked the team of ex-Ranger Tucker
Wayne and his war dog, Kane, as they are linked in with
Sigma to help save Amanda, the President's daughter. Not
only does Rollins do a great job in developing his human
characters, he is spot on in presenting this well-trained
dog's point of view.
While terrific as a stand-alone exciting novel, existing
followers of Rollins are sure to be thrilled with this
latest account of the secret military organization known as
Sigma Force. A must read powerful page turner for sure!
Don't miss it!
A yacht bearing a young American couple is attacked by
Somali pirates, leading to bloodshed and the violent
kidnapping of the pregnant woman on board. To aid in her
rescue from the lawless and war-torn jungles of coastal
Africa, Sigma Force enlists the aid of a unique search
team:
former army ranger Captain Tucker Wayne and his military
war
dog, Kane. But what appears to be a straightforward mission
turns into a fiery ambush and betrayal—for this most
valuable hostage is in fact the president's daughter.
Halfway around the world, a firebombing at a fertility
clinic in the United States reveals a group of women
collected from around the globe and enslaved to bear
children by artificial means. One woman lives long enough
to
give birth to a stillborn baby, but a genetic study reveals
the child bears an impossible abnormality—a triple helix of
DNA.
To uncover the dark truth hidden within our
genetic code and shrouded by a centuries-old conspiracy,
Commander Gray Pierce and Tucker Wayne must team up to save
an unborn child, a child whose very existence raises a pair
of ageless questions:
