When I sat down to read SERENDIPITY by Carly Phillips I knew
I was going to be getting an enjoyable read, what I wasn't
expecting was a story that I found myself being drawn into
and unable to set aside.
Ethan Barron was a boy from the wrong side of town. He did
little to nothing to improve people's opinion of him. In
fact he more than lived up to their low opinions and ran
from Serendipity as soon as he could.
Time was kind to Ethan, and when he returns to Serendipity
he's an older, wiser, more mature person, and one who wants
to start fresh with those he left behind. Most notably his
brothers, Nash and Dare. He also wouldn't mind a fresh
start with Faith Harrington.
Faith, whose family was once the richest in town, has also
returned to Serendipity looking for a fresh start. Where
once her family could do no wrong, they are now the town's
most notorious residents, and while Faith's mother is
wanting to live the life of a recluse Faith is determined
that her new life be one lived in full view and acceptance
of the town's residents.
As you turn the pages you often have to wonder whether or
not both Faith and Ethan are working towards several lost
causes...acceptance by the town, and realizing how they both
feel towards one another. Suddenly, an unexpected twist
throws Ethan and Faith together
for a cause neither could have anticipated.
SERENDIPITY is truly an aptly named book, as without fate
where would Ethan and Faith end up. The pages fly by as
Ms. Phillips brings her vibrant characters to life and you
get more involved in their stories. There is something of a
cliff hanger at the end of Serendipity, and fortunately for
readers we'll get the result of that cliffhanger with the
next book, Destiny. Unfortunately for readers we
have a bit
of a wait!
With SERENDIPITY Ms. Phillips has cemented herself a spot on
my auto buy author list, and I'm confident you will enjoy
this romantic comedy as much as I did.
Faith Harrington was the classic girl of privilege--until her father was convicted of running a Ponzi scheme and then her marriage crashed and burned. Now Faith is back in her hometown, hoping for a fresh start. But her father's betrayal has rocked Serendipity - and not everyone is ready to welcome her with open arms. Then she runs into her teenage crush -- the dark, brooding Ethan Barron. Ethan, no stranger to scandal himself, never imagined he'd own the mansion on the hill, much less ever again come face to face with Faith--the princess he once kissed senseless. The chance meeting reignites the electric charge between them. Still, when Ethan hires her to redecorate what was once her childhood home, Faith is sure that getting involved with the town's notorious bad boy will only lead to trouble. But her heart has other ideas. And so do the townspeople of Serendipity ...
