Romance Paranormal

STRONGER THAN SIN did not read like a typical paranormal romance novel. I was enthralled by the story from the first page and could not put it down. I was dreaming about the story and thinking about it when I was at work. I loved that I wasn't reading about mythical creatures like vampires, werewolves, and the like (I still love vampires and werewolves!!!) It had a scientific edge that anyone that is fascinated by genetics would love to read. It is original in its scope and overall concept. Who knew that science and genes could be so interesting? Pineiro has made being a geek fun and sexy!

It is the second novel in Caridad Pineiro's Sin series and features Dr. Lilliana Carrera and Jesse Bradford. Jesse is a former NFL player who was severely injured. At the thought of his career ending, he took measures into his own hands by getting involved with Wardwell gene therapy. He was injected with genes that he thought would help him regain his strength and, in turn, his career. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and this is where we begin STRONGER THAN SIN.

Dr. Carrera has a big heart and hopes that she can reverse the damage that was done to Jesse. The story revolves around what power and greed has down to a group of men who worked with Wardell. They see the opportunity to make money, not caring who they hurt or even kill. Dr. Carrera has to help Jesse even though she is wary of these men. In the meantime, she falls for the big, gruff man that is Jesse Bradford. Their relationship develops quickly but it shows what true love can do to two people who were previously hurting and alone.

STRONGER THAN SIN had one of the best endings I've read in a long time. It set up the next novel in the series perfectly, and I'm now eagerly awaiting the release of the next novel. Pineiro has changed the face of Paranormal Romance and is definitely an author to watch.

SUMMARY

Dr. Liliana Carrera nearly lost her life to Wardwell scientists. She won't let them harm other innocent victims, like her new patient, Jesse Bradford. The former pro athlete had the best hands in the NFL . . . until an injury forced him to undergo Wardwell's experimental gene therapy. Now Jesse's gorgeous body is superhuman-but his strength comes at a price.

With Wardwell threatening his family, Jesse can't tell Liliana all he knows. Yet he can't resist her compassion... or her healing, erotic touch. As their passion flares, Jesse's body becomes dangerous and volatile. For evil men are plotting to change the face of humanity--and will destroy whoever stands in their way.

Re: Pineiro changes the face of Paranormal Romance

I read her first SIN book and thought it was not only very interesting, but well researched. I have been eagerly awaiting the rest of the series. Thanks Caridad and thanks Audrey for the great review.
