Re: The Red-Hot Chili Cook-Off (10:23am April 3, 2014):

I don't cook "Texas food," but Hubby won an NCO chili cook-off when he was stationed at Fort Hood in the 1990s. It was a bit of a scandal because he's a Yankee, born in Philly and raised in CT.

I do love the flavors of Tex-Mex food though.

Re: Rising Assets (10:19am April 3, 2014):

What makes me crazy? Intolerance and people thinking they "know better." But, poor and reckless drivers are a main reason I try to limit my driving to necessary trips, only.

Re: Hard As It Gets (3:25pm November 26, 2013):

Aside from Paranormal Shifter stories, which I love, Heather Long wrote a novella entitled "What Part of Marine Don't You Understand?" featuring Jethro a PTSD service dog. It struck VERY close to home, as my Hubby suffers from PTSD and is happiest when he is around our dogs, or the dogs at his doggie day care.

Animals humanized even the most hardened characters and we are able to see their loving, caring sides.
