Re: Sweet Reward (9:26am January 3, 2012):

Thanks everyone for your comments! Sorry I didn't get a chance to
respond to all of them. For those who love tortured characters, I hope
you'll give the Last Chance Rescue series a try. And for those who
have read the LCR books, thank you!

Good luck on the drawing and happy new year!

Re: Sweet Reward (8:48pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Debbie! I'm not too crazy about whiny characters either. (: Thanks for
dropping by!

Re: Sweet Reward (8:45pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Wilma! Thank you. If you try an LCR book, hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Reward (8:44pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Vikki! LOL I agree, perfection is boring. And I'll never know about that
either. (:

Re: Sweet Reward (5:54pm January 2, 2012):

Hi JoAnne! Love the name Dragos. Will have to check out that series.
Thanks for adding the LCR series to your wishlist. Hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Reward (5:52pm January 2, 2012):

Hi MaryAnne Banks! Oh, I adored Sam. Such a wonderful hero!

Re: Sweet Reward (5:50pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Mary Lynch! Thank you. Hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Reward (5:26pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Anne. I think that's one of the reasons I love tortured characters in
romance so much. You know exactly where it's going--to a happily ever
after! (:

Re: Sweet Reward (5:24pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Mary, I agree. Oftentimes that vulnerability is hidden and the heroine
(and the reader) has to dig deep. But it's well worth the effort. (:

Re: Sweet Reward (5:16pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Cathy, I think that's one of the biggest reasons I love tortured heroes
too. That HEA is so well deserved and I'm so happy that they're finally
happy. (:

Re: Sweet Reward (1:48pm January 2, 2012):

Hi Angee! Thanks so much. I'm thrilled you've enjoyed my series. I hope
you enjoy SWEET REWARD, too!

Re: Sweet Justice (12:36pm September 5, 2011):

Hi Pat! Thanks so much. If you read SWEET JUSTICE, hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:25pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Sigrun! You named some excellent authors who have created some
very evil villains. Gore is just not my thing, in books or movies. I don't
mind knowing that stuff happens but I don't have to know the
gruesome details. I enjoy the ones that leave some stuff up to your
imagination.

Thanks for looking out for my books. If you read any of them, hope
you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:19pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Amber! Oh yes, Dream Man is one of my very favorite Linda Howard
books. I reread it often. Carrol Janes was a creepy, nasty villain and
there were a couple of scenes that scared me too. Definitely not a
good home alone late at night kind of read--but an absolutely
fabulous read all the same. (:

Hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:16pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Lisa! Isn't it amazing how those serial killers in fiction do seem
normal. Of course, in real life, when they're interviewing the killer's
neighbors on television, they always seem surprised and say he was so
nice and mild mannered.

Re: Sweet Justice (3:11pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Christine! I agree. Johansen can write some very 'good' villains. And
hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:09pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Gail. My heroes are good guys (thought they're not perfect by any
means) but my villains have a tendency to be very very bad. The villain
in SWEET JUSTICE might be the most evil yet. Thanks for reading one of
my books. So glad you enjoyed it. If you read any of the SWEET books,
hope you enjoy them, too!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:06pm September 4, 2011):

Thanks, George! Hope you get the chance to read SWEET JUSTICE and
enjoy it.

Re: Sweet Justice (3:05pm September 4, 2011):

Hi Peggy! Though the characters in SWEET JUSTICE do go through a lot,
there is an extremely upbeat happy ever after (something I insist on for
my endings). If you read SWEET JUSTICE, or any of my other books, hope
you enjoy them!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:39pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Heather! Oh, I read Kaylea Cross's Out of Her League and remember
the villain being really really evil. LOL I like your analogy of the
cockroach that wouldn't die.

Re: Sweet Justice (9:37pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:36pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Sue! Yes, J.D. Robb is so very awesome! And thanks so much for
loving my books! Hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE too!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:34pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Lisa! Yes, Stephen King has given me several sleepless nights. I'm
sure you and I aren't the only ones either. Oh, I've never read Higgins
Clark. I love being surprised about the villains. Will have to add her to
my authors to try list.

Re: Sweet Justice (9:31pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Susan! Thanks for the recommends! Will definitely look these two
books up!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:30pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Wendy! Stephen King is the master of creating evil--villains,
creatures or monsters--they're all incredibly vivid and much too life-
like. And I never feared clowns until IT either. (:

Re: Sweet Justice (9:26pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Phyllis! I love Tammy Hoag but I've not read Ashes to Ashes. Thanks
for the recommend. Will have to look that one up!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:24pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Jennifer! Oh, wasn't Rutger Hauer incredibly evil in The Hitcher! That
was one very scary movie. Even the remake, which wasn't as good,
imho, was still scary.

And if you read SWEET JUSTICE, hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:21pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Tonya! Thanks so much. Hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:20pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Alyson! Oh, I've never read a Finder book. Must find one. And I saw
the previews for The Debt. It looked really good!

Re: Sweet Justice (9:19pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Molly! I'm not big on gruesome details either. When I'm reading, I
have a tendency to skim over those kinds of things. In writing, I try not
to go too far. In SWEET JUSTICE, though the villain is evil, I don't
graphically detail his acts--well, except for once, but he was almost as
evil as the villain so I didn't feel too badly about it. (:

Re: Sweet Justice (9:15pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Anna! I remember that movie. It was very good. I think they did a
remake of that not too long ago but I didn't see it. Wonder if it was as
good as the original.

Re: Sweet Justice (9:13pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Joanne! Wow, being framed like that would be horrifying. And not
having anyone believe you. Yikes, now that's a scary thought.

Re: Sweet Justice (8:57pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Krystal! Thanks so much. If you get the chance to read SWEET
JUSTICE, hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (8:27pm September 3, 2011):

Hey Kara! Yes, Karen Rose's villains are so incredibly evil. And I know
there are people as evil as Alden Pike out in the real world but I sure
hope I never meet them. (:

Thank you so much for that endorsement of SWEET JUSTICE and the
LCR books You are such a SWEETheart!

Re: Sweet Justice (8:18pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Mary! Thank you so much. I'm so happy you've enjoyed the Last
Chance Rescue books. Hope you enjoy SWEET JUSTICE, too!

Re: Sweet Justice (8:16pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Colleen! Thank you so much. So thrilled you've enjoyed my books and
that you're looking forward to SWEET JUSTICE!

Re: Sweet Justice (8:15pm September 3, 2011):

Joanne, thanks for putting my books on your menu! (:

Re: Sweet Justice (8:14pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Joanne! Thanks so much. And yes, love Sandra Brown!

Re: Sweet Justice (8:12pm September 3, 2011):

Hi G S! I totally agree. The ones that seem so normal and could live right
next door to you are the scariest. And yes, hurting a child goes to the
top of my list as the most heinous.

Re: Sweet Justice (8:09pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Na S! Wow, Don't Breathe a Word sounds like a great read. I love
twists and turns in a romantic suspense. Thanks for the recommend.
Will definitely have to look that one up!

Re: Sweet Justice (5:28pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Deborah! Thanks so much! And I hope the villain in Two Graves is as
evil as you want him to be. (:

Re: Sweet Justice (5:23pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Connie! Yes, another vote for Lecter! Uber evil villain!

Re: Sweet Justice (5:22pm September 3, 2011):

Hi MaryEllen! Yes, Hannibal Lecter has to be one of the most evil villains
ever created. Would not want to meet him even if he were behind a thick
layer of glass, tied up and his jaws were wired together. Evil personified!

Re: Sweet Justice (5:18pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Elisa! Yes, Allison Brennan is awesome. I love her books and she does
have some very evil villains.

Re: Sweet Justice (5:16pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Dawn, thanks! If you get a chance to read SWEET JUSTICE, hope you
enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (4:46pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Diane! Oh, that kind of villain sounds intriguing. Will definitely have
to take a look at No Country for Old Men. I know they made a movie
from it and from what I could tell, it looked pretty creepy.

Re: Sweet Justice (4:43pm September 3, 2011):

Hey Crystal! Glad that Alden Pike gave you chills. (: You know, I don't
think I've read Karin Slaughter yet. Will definitely had to add her to my
list of authors to try. Thanks for the recommend!

Re: Sweet Justice (3:29pm September 3, 2011):

Oh Karen, you're so right. I read Grisham's A Time to Kill and had to
skim those chapters. Grisham is an amazing storyteller but there are
some places I can't go to, even in fiction.

Re: Sweet Justice (1:55pm September 3, 2011):

Hey Natalie! Oh, I'm going to have to look that book up! Thanks for the
recommend!

Re: Sweet Justice (1:07pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Deb! I know I read The Surgeon and remembered really liking it but
can't recall the villain. Need to go back for a reread!

Re: Sweet Justice (1:05pm September 3, 2011):

Hi Renee! I haven't read The Lovely Bones but I did see the movie. So
very sad. And having the creep live right next door--oh, that is scary!
Thanks for the kind words. If you read SWEET JUSTICE, hope you enjoy!

Re: Sweet Justice (11:17am September 3, 2011):

Hi Sheila! The villain in SWEET JUSTICE is very creepy. Also, as mentioned
before, Karen Rose writes some incredibly creepy villains. One of hers
that gave me nightmares was the villain in Count To Ten. Such a very
very bad guy!

Re: Sweet Justice (10:40am September 3, 2011):

Hi Pam! Yes! Though I've never read Thomas Harris's books, Hanibal
Lecter has got to be one of the most creepy villain in books or movies.

Re: Sweet Justice (10:30am September 3, 2011):

Hi Barbara! Yes! Those Carpathian vamps are truly hideous and Christine
Feehan does such an awesome job describing them. Love her Dark
books!

Re: Sweet Justice (10:27am September 3, 2011):

Hi Marjorie! Oh yes, Romantic Suspense is my favorite too!

Re: Sweet Justice (10:09am September 3, 2011):

Hi Mary! Sometimes movie villains can be even worse for me. Being able
to 'see' their evil on the screen can make it seem all the more real. I
think Hanibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs gave me a couple of
nightmares. (:

Re: Sweet Justice (10:04am September 3, 2011):

Hey Jane! Thank you!

And oh yes, Karen Rose writes some absolutely hair raising villains! And
Simon was truly hideous.

Re: Sweet Justice (10:01am September 3, 2011):

Hi Kimberly! I agree. That has got to be the worst kind of villain. And Iris
Johansen's Eve Duncan series is fabulous!

Re: Rescue Me (4:22pm April 26, 2009):

Hi Shannon, thanks for stopping by. I guess the creative process is as individual as
each person. Give ten people an idea and each one will take it in a different direction.
Love the individuality of creativity!

Re: Rescue Me (4:17pm April 26, 2009):

Hey Pamela, thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy
the series. Oh, and I love the image of a lonely mist
shrouded tree lined drive! And what a great writing
exercise. I might try that sometime!

Re: Rescue Me (4:15pm April 26, 2009):

Thanks so much, Bridget. Hope you get
a chance to read the series. RESCUE ME
has already been sighted in several
stores!

Re: Rescue Me (11:02pm April 24, 2009):

Oh Patricia, that's my dream trip! Scotland and
Ireland! Let me know if your wish is fulfilled.
And how you did it. (o;

Really hope you enjoy the Last Chance Rescue
series!

Re: Rescue Me (6:44pm April 24, 2009):

Thanks so much, Jo! RESCUE ME should
be in stores Tuesday. Hope you enjoy it!

Re: Rescue Me (3:38pm April 24, 2009):

Thanks so much, LuAnn, Karin and
Robin! One of the great things about
the series is they come out so close
together. I know if I really like a
series, I can't wait for the next book.
With this trilogy, RESCUE ME releases
on April 28, RETURN TO ME comes out
a mere three weeks later on May 19.
Then RUN TO ME releases a month
after that on June 23. Hardly any wait
time at all. Hope you all enjoy the
series!

Re: Rescue Me (2:39pm April 24, 2009):

Thanks so much, Kelli Jo! Be sure to
stop by my website on Tuesday, April
28, RESCUE ME's release date. I'll be
giving away signed copies of RESCUE
ME and a chance to win an advanced
reading copy of RETURN TO ME, along
with some other goodies. Hope you
enjoy the series!

Re: Rescue Me (11:15am April 24, 2009):

Thanks so much, Christine! And I look
forward to reading your blog and your
book!

Re: Rescue Me (2:37pm April 11, 2009):

Candy, thanks so much for the plug.
Not only am I looking forward to my
first release, but all the others that
you mentioned too! Also, thanks once
again for being such an inspiration
and mentor to so many. Wishing you
multiple blessings!
