TWISTED ROAD by Christine Feehan

Lyric Johansen has tried hard to keep as far from trouble as possible. Her life had always been hard. She is introverted and would appear to be weak, but that is far from who she really is. She steps up when she has to or feels that she can help a situation. Winding up in a coffin with a man she doesn’t know well and knowing she will face death is one of those times that she wishes she could take back.

TWISTED ROAD is the tenth in author Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink MC series and features Keys with his mysterious lady Lyric. He was sent to spy on the little down and help bring down the traffickers but instead he finds his perfect match.

All the characters, especially in this series, are all different and as fans know from the beginning the past has shaped them. Torpedo Ink is family, not particularly by blood but by the bond of a horrific childhood that only 17 of over 250 children survived. I find it intriguing that Ms. Feehan can put together couples that compliment and complete each other. Keys is the usual protective character and knows how to help his lady when she became overwhelmed with too much sensory and social situations. It was fantastic that he accepted her as not someone to be fixed but someone to be loved.

TWISTED ROAD has the usual tension, sexual and emotional, as well as the usual danger and intrigue of the others in this series. However, this was not my favorite in the series, the dialogue sometimes felt too repetitive and though there were some action scenes those sometimes felt too short. I would have liked to visit a bit longer with the other Ink members just to catch up on what was happening with them.

That all said, even with those personal flaws, TWISTED ROAD is still an amazing read, because Ms. Feehan knows what her readers are looking for and gives it to us each time.
