WAIT AND SEE is fast-paced and action-packed. This is the 12th of the Kendra Michaels series by author Iris Johansen, along with her son and co-writer Roy Johansen. It is important to note the number because new readers might find it a bit daunting trying to navigate the characters that are involved. Fans of the series will enjoy revisiting all the old and some new favorites.

There is a lot happening in this book and some of it might have a hint of things that seem more futuristic than fans of this series might have. There is robotic and AI themed situations that are interspersed with the normal dialogue and usual action filling the pages.

WAIT AND SEE does give readers a look into the spy world and how deep the distrust can be even among the “good” guys. It also takes a closer look at the relationship between Lynch and Kendra and what it might become if she has the time to deal with the emotions as she follows the cryptic messages and hints as to his whereabouts. This offering throws in a number of twists and turns as the good people work to eliminate the evil that wants to rule the world. I will admit that to me there were a few times that things seem to drag but on the most part this the Johansen’s at their best.

If you like a mystery, twists and turns, surprises along with a few sweet moments then WAIT AND SEE will fit the bill.
