In a mansion that has seen tragedy through generation after generation, through a curse of a vicious woman who later became an evil spirit. It is up to Sonya, the newest owner of the grand house, to break the curse. The problem is to get to THE SEVEN RINGS from the spirit – the rings the evil woman ripped from the fingers of the seven lost brides.
Sonya MacTavish is determined to remove the curse and return her home to the happy place it should have been. After she, her boyfriend Trey, her cousin Owen (and Trey’s best friend) and her best friend Cleo had seen and often felt the torment their ghosts had suffered. As they go from room to room looking for clues, they begin to put the manor back together as it was and should have been – filled with light and love. Though with each change, the anger of the evil spirit gets worse.
THE SEVEN RINGS is the finale for the Lost Bride trilogy, and it is absolutely the most heart-racing book I have ever read. I sat here staring at my laptop, trying to figure out the right words to express the emotional rollercoaster that author Nora Roberts puts her readers through with THE SEVEN RINGS, and I am really not sure I have them.
The four main characters have grown not just closer together but as people. If you read the other two books (INHERITANCE and THE MIRROR), you will have gotten to know these people and watched them fall in love and fight for right. If you are looking for a heavy, spicy romance, this is not it – though if you want warm and fuzzy, this is perfect for you. The dialogue and descriptions of the home and grounds made readers feel as if they were right there with you.
I will admit it felt a bit rushed, especially at the end, but I guess the need to get the job done before it was too late is why the pace was so fast. There was also a lot of talk about food, so be careful reading this if you are hungry, or you might find yourself wandering into the kitchen.
THE SEVEN RINGS is the perfect finale for an amazing trilogy that is filled with good ghosts, friends, lovers, and an evil that needs to be gotten rid of. And of course, Ms. Roberts knows how to please her fans by ending a malevolent reign of terror.
