Grace Larsen is a gifted artist, who lived a simple life until a year ago her art began to sell for amazing prices. Her friend at the art gallery was thrilled and kept raising the prices and the buyer kept buying. She doesn’t know that she has become an obsession to a very wealthy man and is about to find out all about his DANGEROUS PASSION.
Viktor “Drake” Drakovitch began life as a street rat, knowing little about himself or his family but he learned to survive in the streets of Odessa and to become the cold, dangerous man that very few knew beyond the persona he allowed to be seen. He trusted very few men and kept all emotions bottled. His only surprise was the year-long obsession with the beautiful artist. Knowing the danger to her if his enemies found out about her – his one and only weakness – he tried to keep away from her. He had seen her artwork from his car and managed to sneak into the gallery in disguise and fell for the art and the woman. When his enemy finds out about her, using his obsession to get to her – he will do everything to protect her. Including giving up his life.
DANGEROUS PASSION is the second in author Lisa Marie Rice’s Dangerous series. The book starts out a bit differently than most books as she introduces us to one of Drake’s enemies and then moves to Drake and Grace. All the characters involved are written in a way that makes them seem real. Not always likeable but real. Grace did seem to be almost too sweet, never getting angry when she found that her life was never going to be the same. Maybe after hearing her talk a bit about her childhood and her adult way of life, maybe having a Drake in your life no matter the dire circumstances. Drake is a cold dangerous man who has one soft spot or weakness, and she becomes his world, which is what readers are looking for in a romance.
My one complaint about DANGEROUS PASSION might be that though the bad guy gets him in an interesting way, there are still some unanswered questions. Did Drake find out who ratted him out and what about the few men who we were introduced to – servants and bodyguards? Not really important to the storyline but just details that I missed. I even re-read the last chapters to make sure I didn’t miss something. Aside from those pesky details that really don’t matter in the long run, I loved DANGEROUS PASSION. This is one of Ms. Rice’s best offerings of cold, dangerous men who know what is most important in life.
DANGEROUS PASSION is filled with danger, intrigue, and a sweet yet steamy romance and will leave you satisfied but wanting more!
A dangerous, ruthless man who rules a billion-dollar empire with an iron fist. A man impossible to best, with no vulnerabilities. But when he meets the beautiful, gifted artist Grace Larsen, he learns the cruelest lesson of all … that feelings kill faster than bullets.
