F.B.I. Agent Evan McGarry and his canine partner Blue are tracking an escaped felon with a lead to the location of dozens of missing children – one who happened to be his sister. The discovery opens a cold case all over Colorado. This leads to the reopening of many people’s wounds and guilt and hopefully also to ULTIMATE JUSTICE for everyone involved.
Marlie Foxe cut herself off from the world three years ago. One of the missing boys appears in the hospital where she is a custodian. The child only allows Marlie to get close, but this puts her in the sight of Evan who needs her to get answers – and he won’t take no as her answer. She finally agrees to help, and this leads them to a cult targeting runaways. They must face the criminals but on top of that, they must face the fact that they are risking their lives as well as their hearts.
ULTIMATE JUSTICE is a fast-paced read filled with action, tensions, investigation techniques, and good old-fashioned romance. Author Tee O’Fallon knows how to build her main characters to feel real. Evan is intense but he is also very good with children while Marlie, though lonely, sad and anxious is able to be there for the children who need her. The chemistry between them also felt realistic.
The world-building was done in such a way that readers are able to feel a part of it and understand everything that is going on. They will “see” the surroundings and the people and “feel” the suspense and danger coming their way. Ms. O’Fallon was able to add some humor that was badly needed to offset the more shocking aspects of the plot.
ULTIMATE JUSTICE will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. If you enjoy strong men and women who fight the good fight for the innocent, then this is the one you need to get your hands on.
While tracking down an escaped felon, FBI Special Agent Evan McGarry and his K-9, Blue, uncover a smoking hot lead on the location of dozens of missing children—including Evan’s own sister. The shocking discovery reopens cold cases throughout Colorado, along with painful wounds and the heartbreaking guilt Evan’s kept buried for decades.
Three years ago, hospital custodian Marlie Foxe’s world imploded, causing her to cut herself off from the world. But when one of the missing boys turns up at her hospital, he only allows Marlie to get close. Now, Evan needs her help with the boy—and he won’t take no for an answer. When she finally agrees to work with him, Evan suspects there’s more to the woman than she’s letting on. She’s hiding something. The question is what.
As Evan and Marlie unearth a cult targeting runaways, they’re forced to confront not only dangerous criminals but the truths they’ve both been avoiding—including the blistering passion they can no longer deny. But when more children disappear, they’ll have to risk more than just their hearts.
