Holy cow! SECOND CHANCE SEASON is one crazy story! It is also the first book I’ve read by Emily March. After you read this wonderful story, you will know exactly why. Zoey is finishing up her medical education and is also engaged to Connor. They decided to visit The Inn At Mirror Lake to see if it would be a good fit for their wedding reception. There Zoey meets Willow, Helen, and Genevieve. This is also where Zoey's life takes on a whole new direction. She feels such a connection to these women. The women give each other strength and lots of advice to help in dealing with the problems they are going through. I'm not going to say too much in this review because I want you all to be surprised!
SECOND CHANCE SEASON is exactly why I now know I will read every single one of Emily March's books. She had me sad on one page and giggling out loud on the next. The venue is booked and Zoey heads back home to finish up her medical degree. Things start going crazy when Zoey's missing mother returns. This story is all about friendship and relationships and the life lessons are heart-tugging. It had me flipping through the pages like a woman on a mission. I had to know what was going to happen to these women and all the secondary characters. So when you have three women who work and relax with each other, there is bound to be some drama right? The sisterhood they share is exactly what they all need at this time in their lives. SECOND CHANCE SEASON is a perfect story that will hold you hostage until the last page. Once you start reading, it will be very hard to put down!
In SECOND CHANCE SEASON all of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I’ve known them for a long time. I would love to hang out with these women. I’m sure they could teach me a thing or two and I know they would keep me laughing all day long! I love how Emily March did that to me. She has me longing to find friends just like her characters. There is so much heart in Emily’s writing that I was left with a huge smile on my face, and my heart was very happy. Emily March is the queen of writing heartfelt stories about women and family drama. If you are looking for a quick, funny, feel-good story, you can’t go wrong with SECOND CHANCE SEASON!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Fresh Fiction. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
From a New York Times bestselling author, a heartwarming story about secrets, sisters, and the enduring power of family ties.
Zoey Hillcrest thought the hard part was over once she and her fiancé, Cooper, settled on a venue for their destination wedding. But as the date approaches, Zoey faces professional burnout, her estranged mother’s terminal illness, and a worrisome distance from her fiancé. When presented with a excuse to return to Colorado, she flees to the peaceful lakeside hotel to figure out what she truly wants in life.
After all the hard work Genevieve Prentice and her sister Helen McDaniel put into renovating their rustic waterfront lodge, the two finally have time to take a breath and celebrate the lives they’ve built in Lake in the Clouds, Colorado. Then a chance run-in with their latest bride turns their lives upside down.
Helen has never laid eyes on Zoey before, but something about her feels familiar. And when the three women uncover a devastating family secret, they must make peace with the past in order to fully embrace what the future has to offer.
