Sheri Whitmore has been dealing with the case of the missing pilot/husband as a private detective for the White Wolf Investigative Service and trying to get herself MATED FOR CHRISTMAS. After all Slade White and she had been dating for a while and she knows he is the one for him. It looks like she just might have to do the asking herself. When she is lucky that the pilot arrived home – though there is something strange about that – and her brother finds himself too ill to make a camping trip he planned with Slade, Sheri decides now is the perfect time to see where he stands.
MATED FOR CHRISTMAS is author Terry Spear’s fourth White Wolf book and it centers around Sheri Whitmore and Slade White as well as gives off an amazing feel of Christmas in the cold of Minnesota. They have been dating for a while and due to her father’s concerns about Sheri’s feelings about a former boyfriend, Slade is being a gentleman. Sheri, of course, loves dating the man – read that to mean Arctic wolf – but is ready for more. He is a pilot and one of the scenes is of them flying a dog and her pups to their forever home before enjoying a delayed dinner date.
The vacation trip is ice fishing and exploring the cold wilderness but one night they hear calls for help after a storm raced through the forest knocking down trees. They find campers trapped and injured. At that time, it is only a rescue. Then the men talk about seeing something on their trip to the camp but haven’t had the time to explore it more closely. One thought it looked like part of a plane and this has Sheri wondering if it had anything to do with her missing pilot case and thus begins the danger they had not expected to deal with.
There are several twists and turns in the danger points of MATED FOR CHRISTMAS that will give readers that edge-of-your-seat feel. The characters in this book are very realistic and you could find that they might even remind you of people you know, and others are ones you are glad you don’t know.
One of the things I find intriguing about this author’s writing is that it is romance without being overly graphic. Sometimes a sweet romance is just what the heart needs and a sweet paranormal is especially satisfying.
Of course, Ms. Spear mixes quite a bit of romance, conversation and family in MATED FOR CHRISTMAS, as is very common in all her books then add in the holiday cheer and you have the perfect holiday read.
A romantic holiday vacation is just what these two wolves need to take their romance to the next level.
Arctic wolf shifters Sheri Whitmore and her boyfriend, Slade White, celebrate a festive Christmas at a cabin retreat in the forests of Minnesota. But when they run into unexpected trouble, Sheri and Slade will have to work together to put the danger to rest so they can enjoy their romantic holiday.
