Onyx has valid reasons to distrust everyone around her but TEMPTING THE BLACK WOLF is really a dangerous game. It is the only way to stop the evil from winning. She is a mage, and it is really worse than that as she is a key to Solange who is trying to take the immortality of the lone wolves.
Dagen is the black lone wolf. Legend holds that a lone wolf is chosen to go alone to police and protect the werewolves from themselves and others. They are feared and therefore often shunned – who wants to be buddies with the guy who might come back and end your life because you are a threat to your kind?
But something strange has happened – there are three lone wolves at the same time and two of them are no longer alone. They have found their mates.
Not about to fall as his brothers had, Dagen spends his time dealing with a mage who intrigues him, but there is nothing she can say or do that will make him succumb to the call to his wolf. Or will fate and love find a way?
TEMPTING THE BLACK WOLF takes fans back into author N.J. Walter’s Lone Wolf world. The finale of the trilogy closes out the series wonderfully. Onyx’s secret comes out fairly early and it is something that causes a lot of mistrust, but Dagen’s wolf doesn’t seem to care. Watching this couple learn to trust and deal with one another before and after the trust is sometimes very emotional, funny and sad all rolled into one. It is funny as Dagen tries to claim a truce but only until the final battle is over, then he will take charge. Nice try tough guy. I liked the appearances of the other wolves and their mates, but the story was all Dagan and Onyx.
TEMPTING THE BLACK WOLF is a standalone but if you want the complete series – Taming the White Wolf and Protecting the Gray Wolf – are books that you will really love to get your hands on.
If you love werewolves, danger, magic, intrigue, romance and faith all rolled into one then TEMPTING THE BLACK WOLF will fill all those loves and give you an amazing adventure.
