Molly Griffin is a crystal artist and a free spirit. An orphan without the ancestral pedigree in the world of Harmony isn’t likely to make a good marriage match, so she isn’t going to try. But PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES should be very careful when it comes to the Griffin family – they are stronger than those houses. When Molly finds the navigator for the lost expedition team which included her sister, she is going to get him to go back and find her. One way or another.
Joshua Knight, now labeled the Tarnished Knight knows things went wrong with the last expedition he led. It is believed he is the only known survivor. The problem is with the burnout he suffered he doesn’t remember what happened. He escapes the hospital where he was locked down and “treated” for paranoia and delusions and finds himself in an abandoned mansion in the desert. Dealing with the strong paranormal vibes in the mansion wasn’t exactly helping him figure out what happened in the catacombs of the alien world. Little does he know his rescue is coming in the form of a very determined woman and a dust bunny named Newton.
PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES is an absolutely fantastic fantasy read. Author Jayne Castle brings back her Harmony world just where “Guild Boss” (Gabriel Jones and Lucy Bell’s romance) ends. This world is always a lot of fun, especially with her dust bunnies and their protective attitude and their partying style. You cannot help but laugh and enjoy their antics. There is also a bit of a dark side when it comes to Harmony – riches and fame do sometimes bring out the worst in people.
Joshua believes he is done for with no way to repair his destroyed reputation – even if he can get his abilities as a navigator back. Molly uses her crystal tuning to be able to go into dreams and help repair damage and she is determined to do that to help Joshua find her sister. Everyone is sure those members of the expedition are all dead, but Molly knows better and Knight – tarnished or not – is going to find them all.
The storytelling ability of Ms. Castle pulls readers into the story right alongside the characters. We are part of it all. The break-in and murder in Molly’s crystal shop, the missing sister, the lost navigator, the wedding of the Guild boss and his lady, the former boyfriend and so much more will have you lost in the pages and loving every moment of it. I enjoyed how we were given Molly’s past and watched as she and her sister, Leona, and their Moms built a strong family together.
If you love the Harmony series and dust bunnies then PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES with give you a thrilling ride.
