When crystal artist Molly Griffin’s sister goes missing during an expedition, Molly knows her only chance of finding her is getting to the only survivor. Once a respected Underworld explorer, Joshua Knight has now been dubbed the Tarnished Knight by the press and diagnosed as delusional and paranoid by his doctors. Though confident she can use her affinity for crystals to help Joshua recover, even Molly isn’t prepared for the Funhouse, the abandoned mansion Joshua has taken residence in when he went off-grid.
Joshua barely made it alive out of the tunnels so it’s no surprise that his memories and his talent aren’t all there. Living in a creepy mansion where fog fills up at night and he can’t see himself in any of the mirrors doesn’t help either. When Molly shows up on his doorstep with her dust bunny, he knows he has to get rid of her before the house gets to her too. But Molly is determined to find her sister before it’s too late, and Joshua is her only hope of doing that.
Jayne Castle takes us back to the world of Harmony on another dust bunny adventure with PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES. Right from the start, Castle gets things started with danger and mystery, and things tend to stay that way right up to the end. I think most people will be on Team Molly right from the start. Joshua starts off a little prickly, which, given what he’s just been through, is understandable, but you’ll be in love with him before you know it. As usual, it’s the dust bunny that steals the show and Newton, with his Zing Chips addiction, is no exception. I love that there are little tidbits of information on previous couples from the series and a malevolent villain in the background that has spanned the last few books. I can’t wait to see what Castle builds up to with her. Whether you’re a long, devoted fan or this is your first Jayne Castle novel, PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES will delight you to its very last page.
