Pure entertainment from beginning to end. Of course, you are hoping for a happily ever after ending, after all the title is THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE, and author Lori Foster has penned some of my most sigh-worthy novels. THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is filled to the rafters with humor as well as romance. The starring characters of this newest Lori Foster masterpiece are Yardley and Mimi. Best friends for life and we are treated to terrific dialogue as witnesses to their discussions about anything.

I have been most fortunate to review several amazing stories by this talented, entertaining author and hope to have read many more.

You are going to love Yardley and Mimi, two grown women whose banter is candidly laugh-out-loud funny. Yardley's relationship with her mother and her aunt is not what you would call loving, healthy, or supportive. Sharp angles everywhere you look. Mimi is a master of barbs and one-liners many directed at Aurora and Lillian.

Yes, even in a small town like Cemetery there is a vast array of characters to get to know. And through her creative genius, Lori Foster has given us an amazing journey into a lovely place where we get to meet some new friends.

The town of Cemetery has its business owners grappling with the consequence of the town's name. The Cemetery family founded this little burgh and has diligently worked to keep that name alive. Part of the historical importance. But for the townsfolk, keeping the name attached to their shops and businesses has become a challenge.

Yardley is a wedding planner utilizing all the special touches that Cemetery has to offer. However, you can imagine the awkwardness of having the word cemetery attached to her business. Along with other folks like a bakery, sweet shop, florist – well I am sure you get the picture.

In THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE, we get to meet all the interested parties and watch this town truly blossom under the tutelage of Yardley. Yardley is the proverbial breath of fresh air. That is her role it seems in the town and in her own family life. Yardley takes care of people, even those that you question being worthy of her care.

When Sheena and her brother Travis come to Cemetery it is to plan Sheena’s wedding. She has been totally in love with this small town, and this is where she wants to be married. At first, Travis is uncertain whether this is an ideal wedding venue, but then slowly but surely he begins to see Cemetery through his sister’s eyes.

There is much to love about the town and its people. In THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE, with each turn of the page, we get more invested in its future. The future with charming and endearing characters like Yardley and her best and formidable friend Mimi whose story is also an important part of the base in THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE. And then there is the necessary four-legged furry character Dodger. Even this puppy has a vital role to play in the smoothing rough corners of some Cemetery folk.

All and all this is a great introduction to a series by Lori Foster. It is followed up with The Little Flower Shop. I read these two out of order. Each one totally stands on its own merit but if you are a fan of Lori Foster this series will reach deep into your heart. THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE is sure to garner a new batch of fans for the amazing prolific author, Lori Foster.

SUMMARY

She was fine arranging other people’s weddings… But life had other plans.

When it comes to creating the perfect happily-ever-after, Yardley Belanger is a bona fide miracle worker. From bridal bouquets to matching cowboy boots, the quirky wedding planner’s country-chic affairs have caused quite a stir in the small town of Cemetery. But when it comes to her own love life? She’s clueless.

Completely clueless.

Perhaps it’s for the best. The thirty-one-year-old has poured her heart and soul into her business and doesn’t have time for anything—or anyone—else. And that’s something not even the gorgeous older brother of her newest client can change…right?

All Travis Long wanted was to give his little sister, Sheena, the wedding of her dreams. Ever since the tragic death of their parents, he’s done everything he can to make her feel loved and give her everything she needs. Still…a country wedding? In a place called Cemetery? But Yardley seems to know exactly what to do and how to do it—and Travis finds himself falling for her a little more each day.

Soon Yardley and Travis find themselves being nudged together by well-meaning locals who want to see the town’s favorite wedding planner get her own happy ending.

Don't miss The Little Flower Shop, an all new heartwarming summer read from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster about a 40-something florist who, with the help of her meddling small town, gets a second chance at life and love.
