Eli Archambault is a shadow rider - one of the fastest of them all, but his skills with reading people have come from his association with the Ferraro family. They are shadow riders, but they are family, something he never got from his own family - who expected perfection and obedience. He rode off in SHADOW FIRE to escape and learn. Brielle also knows little about family as she was an unwanted member, who was only to do what would help her sister. The Archambault family chose her to marry one of their members, but it was a disastrous attempt. Eli, furious with his family for trying to force it, said things that could not be unsaid, and it was over. Now he is at the age when it is time to accept a wife and do his duty to the Shadow riders. He signs the papers, she signs the papers, and neither really paid attention to the truth until the wedding. Brielle is shocked that Eli is her husband. He is thrilled! Now he has a chance to make things right. All I can say is WOW! This was a totally unexpected twist for author Christine Feehan to throw her fans way. Eli was a fan favorite from the moment he appeared in the Shadow Rider books, many wondered if he would steal Emma from Val, so his story was anxiously awaited on. SHADOW FIRE is it and so much is packed in these pages that your head will spin - in a good way. We get to know Eli's family a little more, and probably like them even less than before. Brielle is a surprise and quite a contradiction. Her family needs to be dealt with in some way for what they did to her. Read SHADOW FIRE to find out all the ins and outs of her life and the troubles that come her way. There is a lot of action as someone dares to attack them and the Ferraros and Saldis are all ready for war against any who came against family. I would say here that there is quite a bit of BDSM - consensual of course – in this story but if that is not for you be prepared to flip some pages. I enjoyed how Eli and Brielle worked on getting to know each other and learn from their mistakes, and from the past in general. As always - though there are moments that may be triggering for some readers - Ms. Feehan gives fans a book you can take to your heart. This story is about learning to love again and enjoying the dangers and dramas of the Shadow Rider's. SHADOW FIRE will fire you up and leave you wanting more.
