In a world that is dog eat dog Eve Erixour might be a small dog, but her bite is big enough to keep her out of trouble - or get her into it. Jinx Shadowbourne, is a League assassin. He is used to people getting out of his way until he steps in to help EVE OF DESTRUCTION and his world turns upside down.

Assassins are being killed one by one and when Eve finds Jinx in an alleyway, hurt and bloody, she feels compelled to return the favor and help him. Her world as she knew it would never be the same no matter how they both fought it.

EVE OF DESTRUCTION by Sherrilyn Kenyon grabs readers by the throat and pulls them into this world and to be honest - you will not want to leave. Eve is a woman that few would want to mess with. She might be a mercenary, who does what she must to survive, but you can see she has a heart. Jinx (aka Fury) is a league assassin who is supposed to not have any emotions and is forbidden to become attached to a woman. He fails at both. He has a good heart despite his title. He knows right from wrong. He also knows things are not how they should be in his corner of the world.

EVE OF DESTRUCTION is a novella, a prequel to Ms. Kenyon's League books. (You will find her sister - who also gets 'rescued' by Jinx - Jayne in BORN OF BLOOD.) This book gives a good background to this world and if you have never read any of the League books this will whet your appetite for more.

There is a lot of action, a good bit of secrecy - even among the league assassins. Can anyone trust anyone? There is danger, drama and a romance that shouldn't be, but it is and it is very steamy. Ms. Kenyon writes in a way that allows readers to know the characters within minutes and be behind them all the way to the end. My only complaint was the shortness of this offering. I wanted more!

SUMMARY

Eve Erixour is a mercenary with a past no one would envy and more enemies than anyone should have. Death stalks her relentlessly. So when she gains the attention of a League assassin, she considers it par for the course.

But Jinx Shadowbourne isn’t after Eve. Someone has it in for him and his brethren. High-ranking assassins are falling, and Jinx is convinced one of their own is selling them out. He’s on the trail of his key suspect when fate throws him headfirst into Eve’s life.

Now the two of them have to find the League leak and plug it or neither one of them will live to face another enemy, and the ones they love, and the universe at large, will be left alone to face a power-crazed madman.
