PHANTOM GAME takes fans back into author Christine Feehan’s GhostWalker books with a lot of catching up to be done with -Team 1 (SHADOW GAME) and Team 2 (CONSPIRACY GAME). There is a lot of dialogue between Jonas and Camilla – and to be honest, a few more botany lessons than I could understand, but it all fit in with what makes them a couple.
After hearing her story, I totally understand Camilla's distrust. It was deep-rooted from her upbringing, as Whitney delighted in driving wedges between the women he experimented on. Jonas was a fascinating man who believed there was no hope for anything normal in his life after Whitney cheated him. (A reminder here that the men agreed to the psychic enhancements but not the added animal/plant DNA that was given them.)
PHANTOM GAME felt a little slow in the beginning but wow - did the action explode with very little downtime as the GhostWalkers protect their own. The camaraderie among the teams is always fun - how they joke and tease but then have each other's backs. It was great to see Kaden and Tansey, Ryland and Lily in their home turf - though a lot happens to these couples too!
The Norton brothers, with Marigold and Briony become part of the book as they are Team 2 members. Something has happened to Mari that only Camilla can help with, but with their past - can Camilla do it? You must get your hands on PHANTOM GAME to find out.
Action, danger, and laughter - usually at each other’s expense - are what these characters bring to PHANTOM GAME. Getting to reacquaint ourselves with past characters and enjoying their triumphs and trials, with a romance that is slow-building but still takes your breath away! It's all here in PHANTOM GAME!
