True Love Cowboy

Romance Western | Romance Suspense

I’m a hopeless romantic. Perhaps that is why I’m such a fan of Jennifer Ryan and rarely miss one of her books. TRUE LOVE COWBOY is another example of love, trust, and devotion making a difference in someone’s life. Life doesn’t necessarily run smoothly. Everyone hits rough patches. What matters is how you land. And in TRUE LOVE COWBOY, landing is very important - especially to Trinity and Jon.
Trinity is the closest thing to a human angel you will find. This extraordinary woman’s goal seems to be helping folks manage their busy lives with a healthy, delicious meal. Eat in or take out doesn’t matter. Trinity provides foods that are healthy for body and soul.

Trinity herself is the bearer of good tidings in so many ways. Through her impromptu home deliveries, she gets to meet and help those unable to avail themselves of her meals. That’s how she meets Dennis. And Trinity now finds herself enmeshed in Dennis and his family, most specifically his son Jon and granddaughter Emmy.

Jon is a busy guy. He has several businesses running in concert. He also takes care of Emmy his four-year-old daughter. And now Jon returns home to his father’s ranch looking forward to having a place to breathe. Unfortunately, Jon couldn’t leave all his problems behind, but he really didn’t have a choice. He was aware of the lack of motherly instincts of Emmy’s mom. Between work and filling in the gap with Emmy, Jon was quickly getting burned out. Moving back home seemed to be a solution.
Arriving home Jon realized it wasn’t just Emmy he had unfortunately neglected. His father was aging and needed his help adjusting to changes. The family ranch needed Jon’s attention as well. Emmy was acting up - probably due to lack of parenting from her mother.

Well, here’s where Trinity enters the picture. Trinity’s caring and love are just what Jon and his Emmy desperately need. But Trinity has some demons of her own to conquer. The question is whether Jon can make Trinity’s needs another priority into his demanding life. It is surely what she deserves.
There are times when you want to reach out into the pages and give Jon a good hearty shake. He is understandably frazzled dealing with a demanding, selfish, and rather immature ex-girlfriend, and guilty over being a part-time father to Emmy. But there are times you wish Jon would be more assertive. Depending on Trinity to fill the void in his own life just isn’t fair.

In TRUE LOVE COWBOY Jennifer Ryan paints the lead male character with a gray brush. In contrast, the lead female is bright and shiny. Neither is truly accurate. And in TRUE LOVE COWBOY we learn to see subtleties.

SUMMARY

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Ryan is known for her cowboy heroes, strong-willed heroines, and powerful love stories. Always page-turning, her western set romances are perfect for fans of Diana Palmer, BJ Daniels, and Linda Lael Miller.

Cowboys live by their word, their wits, and their loyalty.

Jon Crawford has returned to Montana, determined to take over his father’s ranch and raise his daughter in Big Sky Country, leaving the big-city life behind once and for all. He doesn’t have time to fall in love, but he doesn’t count on stubborn but beautiful Trinity McGrath, who arouses his protective instincts even as she tries to push him away.

Life hasn’t always been easy for Trinity, but now she has everything she needs—her family, friends, and a safe and secure life. With a business to build, Trinity doesn’t have time for romance…until Jon comes barging into her life and all her intentions are turned upside down!

Still, an attraction like theirs is too powerful to deny, and sometimes true love comes along when you least expect it. But when someone from Jon's past comes back with a vengeance, Trinity and Jon will have to do everything they can to save themselves and their new love...

Excerpt

“This was probably the best date I’ve ever had.”

She chuckled. “I’m sorry you’ve had so many bad dates then if a simple dinner tops your list.”

“It was the company that made my night.” With that, he slowly leaned down, giving her time to back out if she wanted to, though she seemed immobilized by his yearning gaze and her own anticipation. He finally kissed her softly. His warm lips remained over hers, tempting her into something deeper, but she liked the buzz of electricity and lingered in the moment.

Jon leaned back just an inch and stared into her eyes. “After getting burned by my ex, I feel like I should be a hell of a lot more cautious. But the truth is I’ve wanted to do that since the night at the hospital when I shouldn’t have been thinking about it at all. But I just couldn’t help myself.” His boldness matched her own when she’d invited him to stay for dinner.

So she went with it. “You should kiss me again.” She didn’t wait for him but met him in the middle and wrapped her arms around his neck. His tongue touched her lips and she opened to him. The slide of his tongue against hers, the very taste of him, sparked a flash of desperate need that had them locked together, bodies pressed tight to one another. She didn’t think she’d ever been kissed like this. Nothing had ever felt this right and tempting and sexy and all-encompassing at once.

“Daddy?” Emmy’s soft voice was the only thing that could tear them from each other.

Jon jolted back and stared into the back of the car. “Damn. That was totally worth the risk.” He cupped her face in one hand and brushed his thumb against her cheek. “I’m sorry. I have to go.” He rushed over to the driver’s door, opened it, and ducked his head inside. “I’m right here, sweetheart. Go back to sleep while I drive us home.”

He turned back to Trinity and took her in with one hot dip of his gaze down her body and back up to her face. “You look so good in that dress.” The look he gave her said he’d rather see her out of it.

She smiled because her heart felt lighter than it had in a long time because of his sweet words and that sexy as hell look he gave her that said so much about how much he wanted her. It felt so good to be wanted like that by him. “Monday. Breakfast.”

“Forever from now, but I can’t wait.”
