Sierra Redding has joined the red wolf pack in Portland, but there is someone from her former life that still has her going back to Texas. She is going to have to figure out THE BEST OF BOTH WOLVES and pick one.
Adam Holmes, detective and red wolf, has had his eye on the pretty little wolf but understands that she already has a boyfriend. Well, he doesn't really understand - as it seems to him that the boyfriend doesn't appreciate the woman/wolf she is.
When her hotel room is broken into, and she uses her wolf self for protection, she doesn't have any idea what trouble that will lead to. It does lead to a part-time job as a police sketch artist and working with the hunky wolf that had her thinking maybe it's time for a change. It seems ridiculous that the burglar wants to go after the "big dog" that attacked him with threats, and other incidents aimed to make her change her statement. There are a lot of changes that happen to her over a short time. Her new job Switches from part-time to full-time, and her feelings for Adam evolve over time. However, nothing is going to make her change her eyewitness statement.
THE BEST OF BOTH WOLVES is a fun escape that only author Terry Spear can offer her readers. In this paranormal setting the wolves "date" and only make love as part of their full mating, but there are a number of steamy moments as this couple get to know one another. I really do enjoy the "getting to know you", as it allows readers to get to know the couple as well as the supporting cast of characters.
The drama and danger will have you holding your breath and the family and pack fun will have you feeling like you are right there with them. It is fun to watch the sun set, the characters run and play as a wolf, laughing with the co-workers, and watching the single guys vying for the single ladies. There are a couple of those guys that I would love to see get their HEA - so here is hoping this series keeps on going!
Something fans always expect from Ms. Spear - and they get it in THE BEST OF BOTH WOLVES - is a well-written, fast-paced read with characters that seem realistic, good guys to love, and bad guys that are really bad.
