Allie and Dash's romance continues in BECAUSE I CAN, the second book in Lisa Renee Jones's Necklace Trilogy. When last we saw Allie, she was in the wine cellar, heard a noise and footsteps, and the lights go out. She hoped it was Dash but discovers it wasn't him, though he was on his way. Dash arrived, but the mystery still persists... who was in the house? And why?
Things seem to go a little smoother for Allie and Dash after that frightful event. She goes back to working with Tyler, but things are still tenuous after Tyler revealed something about Dash to Allie before, something Allie thought should have come from Dash...
If you are a fan of Ms. Jones's books, you know that in a trilogy and lot happens and there are two cliffhangers readers must survive to get the HEA and solve the mystery of the missing Allison, where the necklace came from and why did she leave so abruptly. There is always something that comes out to throw a wrench into the budding, yet rocky, romance.
BECAUSE I CAN will have you on the edge of your seat and loving every minute of the pull and push the characters go through. There are a number of times that you will think I have this figured out then - Whoa! What just happened and why now?
I cannot wait for the finale because I want Dash to believe in himself enough to know he is worthy of Allie. And, of course, I want to know who sent the necklace that started Allie down this heart-racing, amazing road.
To the world, Dash Black is famous, wealthy, wildly good-looking, and intriguing. To say that he came into my life and shook my world is an understatement. He looked into my eyes and I swear our souls connected, but then, I saw what no one else was ever allowed to see. I saw a complicated man with secrets, a man who hides behind a persona that tells only part of his story. And ultimately, I felt his pain and he felt mine. He told me I belonged with him. I believed I did. But in the book of life, the pages don't turn with a simple flip of a sheet of paper. In life, sometimes the page won't turn. Sometimes we discover that what is right is more terrifying than what is wrong.
I love Dash Black, but he terrifies me. I believe he feels the same about me. And I'm not sure where that leaves us or what comes next.
Because I Can is the second book in the Necklace Trilogy.
