Everyone has secrets... Some to protect themselves and sometimes to protect someone else. And each person has a history. In CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE by Maisey Yates, we turn each page to discover something remarkable about each character. Their interpersonal relationships are the cornerstone of their lives. The goal of this group of characters is to rediscover important events of their lives and how their choices affected them. The quilt is a vehicle for that discovery. It is also a means to reconnect them.

Women and their mothers are a central theme in CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE. Maisey Yates introduces us to some amazing women, past and present. The source of the details, facts, and events are pretty simple. Diaries provide intimate details of some women whose lives had passed through this area, along with items that had personal meaning to them. The odds of matching the items to the stories seem impossible and yet page by page we uncover more important details. These women seem random, but you come to realize their connection is vital and revealing.

Three sisters are reunited in their hometown with the passing of their grandmother Addie. Their mother Mary is there as well. The sisters had quite a different relationship with their mother and grandmother, and we learn why. There are many secrets that had been amassed over generations that are now being exposed layer upon layer. The simple task of completing a quilt takes on quite an enlightening event for all these wonderful women. Maisey Yates takes us on a voyage to discover just what makes each woman tick. The author paints a beautiful picture with a plethora of colors and textures in CONFESSIONS FROM THE QUILTING CIRCLE.

SUMMARY

The Ashwood women don’t have much in common...except their ability to keep secrets.

When Lark Ashwood’s beloved grandmother dies, she and her sisters discover an unfinished quilt. Finishing it could be the reason Lark’s been looking for to stop running from the past, but is she ever going to be brave enough to share her biggest secret with the people she ought to be closest to?

Hannah can’t believe she’s back in Bear Creek, the tiny town she sacrificed everything to escape from. The plan? Help her sisters renovate her grandmother’s house and leave as fast as humanly possible. Until she comes face-to-face with a man from her past. But getting close to him again might mean confessing what really drove her away...

Stay-at-home mom Avery has built a perfect life, but at a cost. She’ll need all her family around her, and all her strength, to decide if the price of perfection is one she can afford to keep paying.

This summer, the Ashwood women must lean on each other like never before, if they are to stitch their family back together, one truth at a time...
