Illium and Aodhan have been friends since they were wee little angels. Suffered through many trauma's together. Aodhan was there when Illium's mother - Lady Sharine - shattered, Illium when Aodhan was taken and nearly destroyed. They are both an ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT but now they are at odds.
Aodhan has worked his way out of the terrible trauma, partly due to Elena and partly due to his own strengths. He sees Illium as too often taking care of him, protecting him and he wants him to see him as whole. He takes the job of going to China with the new Archangel Suyin to help her set up her new territory now that the crazy Archangel Lijuan is gone forever. Illium takes that as a desertion and decides to give him what he wants - he will stay away. But the Archangel Raphael has other ideas and sends Illium to China to help them. He knows that Suyin is trying to steal his Aodhan and he isn't about to lose one of his Seven.
ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT is author Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter 14 and one many fans have been waiting for - a few will not be as thrilled as they had hoped, while others will be delirious. This is Illium and Aodhan's romance. Just to be clear - it is not graphic in any way other than some kissing when they finally admit that they belong together. It is the journey that readers will find enthralling.
There have been many questions that will finally be answered starting with the sweet meeting between the two "younglings" who become inseparable, their many adventures, trials and tribulations, Illium's ill-fated romance with the foolish human and his punishment (which broke Raphael's heart but he had to do it) to the unexplained crushing of Aodhan's spirit and the rebuilding of his life. What Illium saw as Aodhan wanting to separate from him, fans will understand what Aodhan really wants. An equal relationship with his best friend - and he wants more.
ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT is a fascinating read. We watch Suyin begin her journey as Archangel of China; see moments of the past that explains a lot; visit with Elena and Raphael as they wait for Illium and Aodhan to return to their "family", and watch a couple become a couple despite their fears and misunderstandings.
Not everyone will be happy with ARCHANGEL'S LIGHT but fans will love it anyway!
