Ivy Danger has plans for her life, and she doesn't want to be an art retrieval expert forever. She has family she misses being with, an animal shelter she wants to see improve, and - most of all - Nash Harris. Too bad her three brothers and Nash are always thinking their job is SAVING DANGER from herself. They don't seem to realize she is very capable at her job. And, face it, being raised with three brothers teaches a girl a thing or two about self-defense and avoiding trouble.
When a job brings her back to Miami, Ivy tries to get it done without her family knowing she is there. Using Nash as a pretend "boyfriend" seems like a good idea, but it isn't - because Ivy has been deeply attracted to Nash for years. He's a friend, and just like her brothers - or is he?
When Ivy is targeted by the thieves she's chasing down, Nash is right there to protect her. He stumbles a bit with his overprotective zeal, but soon learns that she is as smart and capable as he really always believed, and quickly realizes it is best to just stand beside her. Hopefully forever!
SAVING DANGER is author Katie Reus' Red Stone Security at its best. Ivy is a stolen items retrieval expert for an insurance company. She plans one big contract and then she wants to retire and stay close to home. Nash has had feelings for Ivy for years, but didn't want to lose the friendship. Her brothers treated her like a wayward teen (which we don't really get any examples of - it's just the complaint of her past). Nash knows better. He sees her as a strong woman who isn't about to be kicked around. She does a little kicking herself. I believe he saw how the fake dating thing could be to his advantage and after a miscue or two, it does seem to be the impetus for them to move from friends, to fake daters, to the real thing. After all, he knows how he feels. She is it for him and hopes that soon she will feel the same.
Fans of this series will love the action, camaraderie, and especially Juan's romance with Angel that gets intermixed with Ivy and Nash's story. It is all smoothly done and so sweet it'll bring tears to your eyes.
The bad guys are a piece of work and, so as not to spoil it for anyone, I will only say this - pay attention to all they do and the ending won't be completely unexpected. Or maybe it will. I was really surprised by the audacity of one of the baddies.
SAVING DANGER is filled with a sweet yet steamy romance (or two), family, friends, intrigue, action, and danger. With all the little twists and turns, you won't want to put it down for one minute!
To maintain her cover and keep her family off her back, they fake a relationship.
Having spent her whole life trying to prove she’s just as capable as her three older brothers, art retrieval expert Ivy Danger has landed the biggest gig of her career, one that will pay off the mortgage of the animal shelter she owns. That is, if she doesn’t die before finishing the job. Even if she locates the stolen art, the violent gang of thieves won’t give up their million-dollar payday without a fight. She has one person she can turn to for help—Nash Harris. Security expert, her brother’s best friend…and the gorgeous man of her fantasies who treats her like a kid sister. Not that she’d do anything about her attraction anyway—not when it would screw up her family dynamic if things went sideways between them.
Now it’s impossible to tell what’s real and what’s not.
Despite having known Ivy forever, “brotherly” is the last thing Nash feels for the sexy troublemaker. She’s it for him. The One. He’s known it for a while…but convincing Ivy is another matter. When they have to fake a relationship for her current job, things shift between them. They’ve worked together before, but she’s in over her head with this latest job. But before anything can come of it, he’ll have to keep her alive when she’s targeted by a dangerous group known for violent retaliation. Nash will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to prove she can trust him—on the job, with her life, and with her heart.
