Lydia Susi is a behaviorist working for the Wolf Study Project (WSA). A non-profit on a shoestring but her biggest worry is the multi-million dollar hotel/spa that is going up next door. A number of wolves have been poisoned and she is sure the hotel people are at fault. But that isn't the only problem she is facing. Her boss is rarely in the office, and their handyman retired. Lydia never claimed to be the boss but someone has to take charge.
On top of everything, for the first time in years, Lydia becomes interested in a man--a drifter by the name of Daniel Joseph who she hires as a handyman. He is gorgeous, mysterious, and a co-worker so he's off-limits, but the body wants what the body wants, despite all the strange vibes going on around her.
CLAIMED is set in author J.R. Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood (BDB) world introducing her fans to another fascinating aspect: the Lair of Wolven. We meet Lydia, Daniel, learn more about the real wolves of the project, as well as the funny and somewhat nosy people of their small town.
CLAIMED is a cross between contemporary, paranormal, and mystery that adds touches of BDB favorites Xhex, John Matthew, and the BDB brothers. We get to know more about Xhex with the inclusion of her nightmares that depict the tortures she endured by scientists and the journey those nightmares send her on.
As with the BDB books, CLAIMED is emotional, steamy, and filled with conflict and secrets that will have you completely engulfed from the first word to the last. Oh, you might want to get a box of tissues--you'll need them at the end of CLAIMED!
Lydia Susi is passionate about protecting wolves in their natural habitat. When a hotel chain develops a tract of land next to the preserve, Lydia is one of the most vocal opponents of the project—and becomes a target.
One night, a shadowy figure threatens Lydia’s life in the forest, and a new hire at the Wolf Study Project comes from out of nowhere to save her. Daniel Joseph is both mysterious, and someone she intrinsically wants to trust. But is he hiding something?
As the stakes get higher, and one of Lydia’s colleagues is murdered, she must decide how far she will go to protect the wolves. Then a shocking revelation about Daniel challenges Lydia’s reality in ways she could never have predicted. Some fates demand courage, while others require even more, with no guarantees. Is she destined to have true love...or will a soul-shattering loss ruin her forever?
