J.R. Ward is back in Caldwell with the Brothers! I can’t believe that there are already nineteen books in this series. However, despite how much time has passed, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward remains one of my top favorites.
This time, Ward has returned to a familiar title with the word “Lover” in it, which made me very excited. Since this is Sahvage’s book, I felt like there was a lot of mystery and anticipation behind it. But I’m glad to say that this book completely won me over within the first few pages.
There’s no doubt that Ward can write well. She proves it time and time again with her unique narration and dialogue. The characters jump out at you with their personalities that even the secondary characters feel unique.
I enjoyed this book and this world thoroughly. Seeing more of Sahvage really opened my eyes and made me fall in love with his character. A vampire MMA fighter? I’m sure a lot of readers will be intrigued by him.
As for the world politics, I feel like a lot happened in this book. Ward has been working toward these things for many books and even in different series, so to see different aspects come together is really cool. With the number of different storylines in this book, it’s easy to get confused. However, if you’ve read all of Ward’s books like I have, I don’t think it will be that hard to understand it. More of the mystery in both the relationships of the characters and the world are really explored and solidified in this book.
Diehard fans of J.R. Ward will absolutely love LOVER UNVEILED. I know I did and I cannot wait to see how the rest of the books unfold.
Sahvage has been living under the radar for centuries—and he has every intention of staying “dead and buried.” But when a civilian female sucks him into her dangerous battle with an evil and ancient as time, his protective side overrides his common sense.
Mae has lost everything and desperation sets her on a collision course with fate. Determined to reverse a tragedy, she goes where mortals should fear to tread—and comes face-to-face with the Brotherhood’s new enemy. She also discovers a love she never expected to find with Sahvage, but there can be no future for them.
Knowing they will part, the two band together to fight against what Mae unknowingly unleashed—as the Brotherhood closes in to reclaim one of their damned, and evil vows to destroy them all…
