It has been such a long time since I read a Kerrigan Byrne book, so with her latest release, THE DEVIL IN HER BED, the third book in the Devil You Know series, I thought that I would make a return to her books.
This book has a lot more action than I expected, especially in the beginning. I have some mixed feelings about this because while I think it creates a lot of drama and conflict, it also seemed out of place in some scenes. As a result, I felt the beginning of the book stumbled a bit, but then it finally found its footing toward the end.
I think a lot of people would like Bryne’s writing style because it infuses a lot of dramatic elements into it. So if you’re a fan of authors who focus more on plot rather than characterization, then I think you’ll enjoy this. But since I prefer a focus on the characters, I wasn’t such a big fan of this book as I was expecting to be.
Nevertheless, THE DEVIL IN HER BED does hold a lot of intriguing elements as well as action and suspense, so I would recommend it if you prefer a faster tone to your books.
