Sevastyan Amurov never thought he would find his mate. His leopard is too viscous, too hard to handle at the best of times. How could he chance the LEOPARD'S RAGE with a special woman? Flambe Carver is a landscape company owner who finds herself claimed by Sevastyan after being attacked by her stalker. Flambe has a number of secrets and a boatload of mistrust toward shifter men. She has no way of knowing that once Sevastyan claims her, he will never let her go and he will fight anyone--including family members and even herself--to keep and protect her. And if someone has to die, so be it.
LEOPARD'S RAGE is the amazing and heart-wrenching 12th book in Christine Feehan's Leopard series. If I am totally honest, and I do try to be in all reviews, the Russian leopards have been my favorites of all her leopard books. They are fierce, gritty, and totally alpha in their actions and thoughts. Having pulled themselves away from their vicious lair upbringing to begin new lives they find that the old life just doesn't want to let them go. Sevastyan is the bodyguard to his cousin Mitya. He is fiercely loyal to his cousin and his wife Ania, as they are to him and that leads Mitya to nearly losing his head of security when he doesn't accept Flambe. That is a story in itself and one that does get worked out.
Flambe is a strong-willed young woman who has absolutely no trust in any shifter and really has no plan to stay with Sevastyan. With him as one of my favorites, that did not bode well for my opinion of her. Later, I understood her fears. Actually with all she had been through with her family and medical problems I was amazed at how she endured. You will have to read LEOPARD'S RAGE to get the full impact of this young woman's life, tragedies, and revel in her triumphs.
A bit of a twist will be found in LEOPARD'S RAGE that will bring another series to mind. Fans of Ms. Feehan might find it interesting that Sevastyan is also a student or master of the rope art Shibari. This was introduced in SHADOW REAPER but if you have not read that book, (and why haven't you?) then this will be a new, intriguing look at a sexual art form. So you might guess this adds bondage to the very erotic read that Ms. Feehan's leopard books are known for.
LEOPARD'S RAGE is filled with action, danger, intrigue, leopards doing their thing as only dominant, often irritating shifters can, romance that is sweet and very, very steamy and as a fan, I hope it is not the last we read of this series.
