There are some threads from earlier books in the series that are further explored in EMERALD BLAZE, but new readers should be able to fully appreciate the storyline if they’ve at least read the prior book, SAPPHIRE FLAMES, where some of the history between Catalina and Alessandro begins. However, I can’t imagine anyone reading just one book in the Hidden Legacy series and not wanting to devour them all!
I didn’t think I could love Catalina as much as I love Nevada, but oh was I ever wrong! Both sisters are unique and have hearts of steel when it comes to protecting their loved ones. The sacrifices Catalina is willing to make for her family are heart-wrenching. Ilona Andrews digs far deeper into all her characters in EMERALD BLAZE as we learn so much more about all the underlying issues that our characters have been dealing with.
I absolutely love Ilona Andrews and everything this husband and wife duo writes! EMERALD BLAZE is yet another shining gem as the complexity of the world-building, and the growth and character development are phenomenal and ever-growing as our characters face more and more dangers. Ilona Andrews is one of the best in the urban fantasy genre and EMERALD BLAZE is another spectacular example of why this writing duo is a must-read author for me. I can’t wait to see what unfolds from the epilogue in EMERALD BLAZE as I eagerly await the next installment in the Hidden Legacy series!
