HIDEAWAY takes place over the span of many years as we see Cate battle past her childhood trauma, only to face challenges that trigger her fears- and for good reason as the past continues to haunt her. Vengeance is an ugly thing, and Cate has to face it head on as her life is forever changed by one nasty betrayal.
I love Cate’s strength of character and how she doesn’t give up despite what she has faced. Even more so, I love her dad for providing a safe, nurturing environment and being willing to put his lucrative career on hold to protect and safeguard his daughter’s emotional and physical wellbeing. It’s a well needed contrast to the ugliness Cate has in her life and I love Nora Roberts even more so for giving Cate a strong, caring father.
