Friends to lovers, back to friends, to fake boyfriend/girlfriend to lovers again - what a twisty trip to a happily ever after. Author Katie Reus seems to like to throw confusion and intrigue at her couples and Grace and Logan get the full brunt of her imagination, making DEADLY SURRENDER a funtabulous read!
Grace knows embarrassment and stupidity when her fiance left her at the alter. She is determined to move on and with the help of friends she has in Las Vegas. Logan MacNeil is one of those friends, but this funny, sexy guy has to stay on the friends list or she might lose him as a fun friend. Logan's reputation is more than a little exaggerated, and he never cared - until Grace. A lot of misunderstandings almost blow everything until a danger from his past has targeted them both. Can he protect her and make her see that he is perfect as a friend and forever lover?
Ms. Reus knows how to throw action and suspense into a book that will hold readers in a tight grip, as DEADLY SURRENDER does, yet also feed the emotional needs of her readers with a sweet/steamy romance. Logan and Grace are an interesting couple because they both want more than friendship, but are a little afraid that it would ruin everything. The tension is electrifying as they try to figure themselves out. I understood Grace's wariness as she had been left at the altar, and wasn't that a really lucky break for her. Logan has a rep that doesn't necessarily fit with what he wants in life. He might have been a player, but now he knows who he wants to settle down with, he just can't seem to get it into Grace's head that they are real.
To continue with the crooked vibe of DEADLY SURRENDER the danger that is thrown their way also has a bit of a bend to it. All in all a romantic suspense read that will throw you into a myriad of emotions. DEADLY SURRENDER is just what readers need right now - and really anytime - a very good escape!
Good old-fashioned heartbreak sent Grace running to Las Vegas for a new start. There, she has the support of a college buddy and her social group, which includes Logan…funny, sexy, protective Logan MacNeil. They’ve become close friends, but that’s all Grace is willing to offer. Logan’s a known player, and Grace has been hurt enough for one lifetime, thanks. Getting left at the altar will do that to a woman.
Being apart could end their lives…
Logan’s reputation is more than a little exaggerated, and he’s never cared. Until Grace. She’s worth risking his heart again, if he can convince the brave, independent woman he’s not the playboy he seems. Right now she needs a friend…and a protector. Someone has already targeted them both—twice. Logan suspects he gained an enemy for his part in his boss’s recent failed business deal. But until he’s sure, he’s keeping Grace close. Achingly, torturously close… And when things turn deadly, he’ll lay everything on the line to make her his.
