If you want to learn THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS this is the book you need. Jason Jenks, aka Flying J, is a pitcher for the big leagues, but his family kept a few secrets from him. While he was off being a star, his parents die and the ranch that they loved is slowly going into debt. He does what he feels he must and leaves the playing and goes back to Sweetwater, Texas, to run the family ranch.

The last thing he wants in his world is a city woman. She might be pretty but she is a smart-mouthed klutz. She doesn't belong. Jessica rents a cottage on the ranch and she plans to write a book. How was she supposed to know that an irritating, pain-in-the-butt cowboy was going to be so up in arms about her renting the place? She doesn't plan on getting involved with him or his grandmother, she has troubles of her own. Right? So how come she baking cookies with the older woman and pushing a baseball in the irritant's hands. Is it possible for two people who have dealt with mistrust, secrets, and irritations of life to manage to be together?

THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS is a phenomenal look at love and life. Jessica might be a city girl but she is also a very down to earth woman who opens her heart and a number of times get the bruised thing thrown back at her. She tries to convince Jason that he can truly have it all if he wants it. He can have the ball playing, the dreams of a ball camp, the ranch, the happiness, and the girl, but he does have to open up his heart and trust. Watching them is at times frustrating and readers will almost be able to guess his reaction to a situation before it happens. The constant bickering does get a bit monotonous, but if you are like me you read on and hope it lessens. It does but it is almost to the end before he finally gets the message to let the past go or lose the present lady for good.

I thought it fitting that she finally gets fed up and leaves, but then decides that she would be darned if he makes her leave a place she loves, and people who are now her family, so she goes to a rest stop, takes a necessary break and is going to go back only to come out of the restroom and there he is. It was good he chased after her, it showed he wasn't completely stupid, but there were times when readers will want to slap him upside the head. There is conflicted (and the reason for these feelings comes clear in the story) which he evidently is, but he is too stubborn and that is Jason personified. He does manage to work it out and the scene at the rest stop will warm readers hearts.

If you want a sexy romance, a conflicted and stubborn hero, a heroine who won't give up, even when it seems she has no choice, and friends and family who will keep things straight, then you need to learn THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS.

SUMMARY

Steamy, sexy, and laugh-out-loud funny, THE TRUTH ABOUT COWBOYS is a new contemporary novel that will pull your heartstrings and steam up your e-reader…

While I was off pitching in the big leagues, my family was back in the small town of Sweetwater, Texas, running the family ranch. Then tragedy hit and I discovered there were secrets that my family kept, problems they hid. I went home, left behind the money, women, and fame. I took over the ranch and took care of my grandmother. I took over hiding the secrets. Then she came to town. A smart-mouthed, clumsy, too-smart-and-too-pretty-for-my-own-good city girl hiding out to write a book. She's right here, on my property, in the cottage my grandmother rented her without my permission, and she sees too much. She knows too much.

Now suddenly my world is spinning, and she's shoving a baseball back in my hand while baking cookies with my grandmother. She's the devil and an angel all in one fiery little package. I decide I'll wait her out. She'll go back to the city. Only suddenly I don't want her to leave, and everything I’ve settled for in my life isn't enough. I want to play ball and I want her, but there's that secret that won't let go, but neither will she.
