Sapphire believes she is cursed, her relationships always go
haywire, so it is much safer to just do one night stands.
Until Eli comes along and believes she is a JAGUAR'S MATE of
all things. Her one night stand with him had her running for
cover.
Eli Scott is a jaguar, a cat with patience, but even he
knows when to step it up and fight for what is his. And
Sapphire is his. He came to visit and friend and finds a
mate. A reluctant mate about to take on a dangerous mission,
so of course, he is not about to let her go on her own.
When the two of them embark on a rescue mission, to save a
friend of hers from an abusive mate, he plans to find out
why she keeps running from their future. Well, that and keep
one step ahead of some very angry, very violent shifters.
JAGUAR'S MATE is action packed with danger and mayhem, but
it is also a fun read. There is a lot of emotional depth to
this book. Sapphire is dealing with some heartbreaks that
have turned her off relationships. Her friends are dealing
with spousal abuse, and that is a rather insipid way of
putting what to her friend's daughter has gone through. Eli
has his hands full in keeping Sapphire, and her friends
safe, and making her face the truth. There is no curse, just
the wrong choices and if she will choose him everything will
work out.
The dialogue especially between Eli and Sapphire is at times
snarky (mostly on her part), insightful (mostly from him);
and at times hilarious. They did have a one night stand,
which truthfully was two nights and then Sapphire's feelings
had her running, but it has a build-up of their relationship
as they continue on their journey. They had time to get to
know each other much better and build something that I felt
they both needed — a mate who will stand right along side
each other, fight to protect and learn to love.
This action-packed, romance rocking, paranormal read will
have you up late, not even realizing that time has passed.
JAGUAR'S MATE won't let you put it down, and when you hit
the end, you want to start over again. I know, because I did
just that and loved it the second time just as much.
