Laurel Inwood thought she'd put her past behind her. Instead of
working as the personal chef to celebrity actress Meghan Cohan,
Laurel is dishing up various Ethnic
Eats at the Terminal at the Tracks diner in the small town of
Hubbard, Ohio. Laurel is content with her life and has moved past her
celebrity-serving days so it's more than a shock when the dead body of
Meghan Cohan is found in her freezer. Lots of people disliked Meghan,
but who wanted her dead?
ITALIAN ICED is the third book in
the Ethnic Eats series and
can be read on its own merits. However, I suspect readers who have
been following Laurel since the first book will best appreciate ITALIAN ICED as Kylie Logan brings
things full circle. We get to see the people Laurel knew from her days
as a celebrity chef, as well as getting a glimpse of why life in Hubbard
is far more peaceful despite the murders Laurel seems to stumble into.
As always, the food in the Ethnic
Eats series sounds delectable! As one would guess from the
title, Italian food is the overall theme to this addition to the series and
oh my, I want to try some of the yummy recipes Laurel prepares for her
customers! I love that they discuss fresh herbs and vegetables and
Kylie Logan has me motivated to start preparations for next year's
gardening after finishing ITALIAN
ICED (although hopefully, my tomatoes fare better than Laurel's!).
ITALIAN ICED is exactly the sort of
entertaining cozy mystery I've come to expect in the Ethnic Eats series. Laurel is a
great heroine, willing to dig in and work hard despite her former
celebrity chef status and Declan, oh who can't help but love Declan
Fury? And yes, ITALIAN ICED gives
us plenty of Declan moments as we watch the love between him and
Laurel strengthen even further. ITALIAN ICED has it all - a fun cozy mystery that keeps
you guessing until the end, scrumptious recipes, and a nice dose of
romance!
Hot pasta and a cold corpse make for quite a combination
in the latest book in the Ethnic Eats mystery series.
When Laurel Inwood features Italian cuisine on the Terminal
at the Tracks menu, she knows she'll need to stock the
shelves, the fridge, and the freezer with plenty of
wonderful delicacies. She just never expected one of them to
be her former employer, Hollywood superstar Meghan Cohan.
And one day, when Laurel is at the restaurant early to get
ready for the regular rush of customers, that's exactly what
she finds--Meghan dead in the Terminal freezer.
What's a Hollywood A-lister doing in Hubbard, Ohio?
For Laurel, that's the real question, because the first
question she'd ask in any other murder investigation--who
would want the victim dead?--seems pretty much a no-brainer
in this case.
Who would want Meghan dead?
Just about anybody who had ever met her.
