LOYALTY is the fourth book in L.P. Maxa's RiffRaff
Records series. As with the previous books in
this series, L.P. Maxa explores the highs and lows of a
rock and roll celebrity family. The Devil's Share
extended family is a hodgepodge of quirky characters with
high sex drives. There might be a lot of lies told by the
younger set in this family, but there is also a lot of
genuine affection and loyalty. In LOYALTY, Katie Cadence
and Cash Matthews meet and it's love at first sight.
Because her parents passed away suddenly, before ever
getting a chance to know them, Katie Cadence's brother
has been the father figure in her life. A loving, yet
overly protective, father which has left Katie a little
sheltered. The Devil's Share brood are far from sheltered
and indulge in quite a few things that are new to Katie.
When Katie is shuffled off to The Devil's Share compound,
her mind is blown, and she experiences a freedom she's
never known. The last thing she expected was to find
romance. Luckily for Katie, she's safe with Cash as she
learns to let go. Cash proves to be more caring boyfriend
than teenage horn dog. Things quickly get super steamy
between Cash and Katie, but L.P. Maxa does a good job of
providing an age appropriate perspective for the young
lovers. Although their parents are rock royalty, this
hero and heroine are not jaded and cynical when it comes
to love. The love story between Cash and Katie provides
LOYALTY with plenty of charm. The conflict surrounding
Cash's twin brother Crue and his shenanigans provides
plenty of drama. Crue's behavior in LOYALTY provides an
interesting contrast to Cash and help define Cash's
character.
LOYALTY is a compelling story about family and a love
story that's a little bit sweet and spicy. This is my
favorite story, so far, in L.P. Maxa's RiffRaff
Records series. I can't wait for Crue to grow up and
gain some
sense by the time his story rolls around. I look forward
to L.P. Maxa's next romance novel.
Twins Cash and Crue Matthews are as close as brothers can
be. Cash would do anything for Crue, so much so he lived
a lie - a huge lie - for over a year. Cash doesn't know
who he's angrier with, himself for doing it, or Crue for
asking. Either way, Cash feels like crap. Then, Mason
Maxwell's sweeter than sin daughter, Katie Cadence, drops
into his life and Cash has a new purpose. But...how will
she react to his secret, and can he risk losing her by
telling the truth?
Katie Cadence's parents have treated her like she'd
evaporate in the rain. True, her beginning was so tragic
the news media covered it for years. But, damn. She wants
to break free and take chances. When she's banished to
the Devil's Share compound, she expects more of the same,
only to find the Devil's Spawn know how to live, and
Katie is all in for spreading her wings. Who's offered to
give her the guided tour: Cash Matthews. Falling in love
isn't on her list of firsts, but when it hits she has no
choice but to go with it.
