"This religious cult has a lot of skeletons to hide."

Every once in a while a story pops up in the news about the
existence of yet another fringe radical group disguised
as a religious order. Many of these are rarely seen for
what they truly are -- a cult. I can't think of any good
examples of a cult. In fact, only really scary visions pop
into my mind. Jokes have been made about drinking the Kool Aid, but in
reality there is nothing humorous about following a leader
like sheep -- and yet some people feel the need to listen
and be led. And at times that path can lead to disaster.
COWBOY'S REDEMPTION is about leaving such a cult when you
know that getting out is beyond difficult -- it can be
deadly. Lola Dayton has been living in a world definitely not her
choosing, but one from which there is no escape. Lola knows
that from experience -- you see she had tried unsuccessfully
to leave Jonas Emanuel's religious group -- The Society of
Lasting Serenity. Her escape attempt was abruptly foiled by
Jonas' followers who where so brainwashed as to think Lola
needed
their intervention. But during that rather fleeting moment
Lola met Colt McCloud and both their lives would be forever
changed. Just as surprising as Cole meeting Lola -- she was gone. Cole
had no way to know where she had run off to -- only aware of
what Lola had told him in their very brief time together.
Cole returned home obeying his father's wish that he spend
three months on the family ranch before deciding whether or
not to sell it. Now Lola is back looking ragged, tired, and skinny. And
telling the most outlandish stories Cole has ever heard. If
even half of what Lola claims is true, then it is a good
thing she escaped. Lucky that she found Cole at the ranch
considering his plans to sell. Timing is everything they say. But it seems Lola isn't really free from the SLS. They are
still holding her most prized possession -- her baby
daughter Grace. And if Lola's appearance and stories aren't
enough to alarm Cole, then her claim that Grace is his
daughter certainly sways his decision to help. It seems
that the brief encounter produced a lovely little girl. And
this little girl is still being held captive by Jonas and
his followers. It is going to take all their cunning and resourcefulness
to get that baby from the cult. And Cole is determined to
do just that. Whether or not Grace is actually his daughter
is not the burning issue. Rescuing that child -- Lola's
child -- from the devious and scary cult is fast becoming
his first priority. COWBOY'S REDEMPTION is a revealing look into one of those
cults. B.J. Daniels uses rescuing the child as the conduit to
peel away the layers of subterfuge mastered by the
leader of the SLS. The sense of urgency is palatable and
before long Cole and Lola's quest becomes yours. As per usual,
the writing of B.J. Daniels is infectious and compelling.
COWBOY'S REDEMPTION is supposed to be enjoyment, but it holds
a very important message, too. I can honestly say COWBOY'S
REDEMPTION is a real page turner.
