Tara's head is in the clouds. It is full of happy
thoughts, wedding plans, and thinking about her handsome
soon to be husband Nick Pratt. Life is good and almost
normal for Special Agent Tara Holloway of the Internal
Revenue Service's Criminal Investigations Division and
she let her guard down for a Sunday stoll. She had just
finished addressing the last of her 138 wedding
invitations that morning when Daffodil, her fiancé's dog,
gives the signal she would love a walk. So, they are on
their merry way to the mailbox. Suddenly, a truck starts
up and heads right for them! Wham! Bang! Crash!
Daffodil saves Tara, but the invitations are not in such
good shape. Instantly, Tara goes on full alert as she
knows someone is out to get her. An unusual letter
confirms that. Nick, also a Special Agent with the IRS
and Lu, Tara's boss, agree with that assessment.
But, who is behind this attack?
Due to her many successful investigations since Tara
started with the IRS, Tara has too many possibilities for
people who might not want her to live to say her wedding
vows. Another mystery for Tara: How did they know about
her wedding date anyway?
DEATH, TAXES, AND A SHOT GUN WEDDING is the twelfth book
in Diane Kelly's series of mysteries involving the
intrepid Tara Holloway. In the author's
acknowledgements, Kelly indicates that DEATH, TAXES, AND
A SHOT GUN WEDDING will be the final installment in the
series. That is sad news, yet this latest in the series
is truly an awesome grand finale as wonderful and
explosive as any you will see in a fireworks display!
I have been a fan of the petite and fearless Tara and her
quirky humour right from Kelly's first book, DEATH,
TAXES, AND A FRENCH MANICURE. The writing in each
installment is as fresh and lively with wiry asides as
the first. I particularly enjoyed the way Kelly
interweaves follow-ups and cases from the previous books
as clues in the series as Tara attempts to figure out who
is hellbent on ruining her big day in DEATH, TAXES, AND A
SHOT GUN WEDDING. I am sure that Kelly's many fans will
also relish revisiting the memories of the badass
characters in the previous stories as well. Given that,
this book can also be read as a stand-alone mystery and
readers new to Kelly will then have the opportunity to
have eleven previous books to go and read!
So, don't wait! Call for a ride to your nearest
bookstore or order DEATH, TAXES, AND A SHOT GUN WEDDING
online for a totally delightful laugh out loud read and
just hope that Diane Kelly has another wonderful heroine
up her writing sleeve! A tax treat you won't want to
miss!
LOVE BEGINS—AND ENDS—WITH A BANG.For IRS Special Agent Tara Holloway, this case is
personal…
Wedding bells are ringing as Tara and her soon-to-be-husband
Nick prepare for their big day. But along with all the RSVP
cards are a series of death threats from an unknown source.
The culprit must be someone from an earlier investigation—a
white-collar criminal with a red-hot grudge—but Tara has run
across too many lawbreakers to narrow down the search. And
time, like her biological clock, is ticking. Now, while
dodging attempts on her life, Tara also finds herself
embroiled in a rental scam in which a heartless crook is
ripping people off left and right. Will she be able to track
down the con artist and make it down the aisle in one piece?
Or will “til death do us part” come before Tara can even say
“I do”?
