I love the Wolves of Willow Bend and I have been intrigued by Diesel (it was kind of funny how he got that name, by the way) when he was first introduced in the series. He is after all the oldest alpha in the U.S. Packs and being in Alaska is quite a secretive SNOW WOLF.
Renae Buckley the youngest of the Buckley clan and on the outs with her alpha, she has been apprenticed to the Hunters. Her mission is to visit Diesel and find out what he knows of the Russian wolf attacks. No matter what she expected she finds herself having a lot to deal with ... she's traveling with the Chief Enforcer who is rather prickly at the best of times and coming face to face with the oldest alpha (who happens to be hotter than expected) who immediately claims her as his mate. Nope ... step back boy and come into the new century.
Diesel has been around a long time and in fact out outlived a mate, but when he visited the Willow Bend conference concerning the 6th pack, he thought he smelled his mate. Turns out he did but she is young and isn't about to put up with a chest thumping caveman. He has to learn quickly how to romance and woo his new mate before she takes off for for Willow Bend and out of his life forever.
I loved this book. All of the characters are fresh and riveting, with additional touches from past books that adds a feeling of home for us readers. Author Heather Long can take the toughest, strongest, meanest leader born and give him a soft side that just melts any woman. Renae, I must admit, I thought of as a spoiled brat (due to actions from previous books) but I think she turned out to be a perfect match for Diesel. There are a lot of supporting characters that gave a lot of life and thoughts to this story, and many were people you would love to meet and be friends with. Then, of course, there are those you cheer when they get what they deserve. SNOW WOLF is a must read and I can't wait for the next in this series.
Ranae is the youngest of the Buckleys and the only girl
amongst three powerful male siblings. Her restlessness and
dominant nature affected her every relationship within
Willow Bend, not to mention testing the patience of her
Alpha. Apprenticeship to the Hunters fed her desire for a
purpose. When her Alpha and eldest brother ask her to
undertake a mission to the Yukon territory, sheβs thrilled at
at the opportunity to be useful. Clashing with the Alpha wa
was the last thing she expected on the dangerous assignment.
The oldest Alpha in the U.S. packs lives a gray existence.
The loss of his mate so many decades before wears away at
him until he doesnβt give a damn about anything. The pr
problems of the other packs are not his, and he prefers to be
be left to his isolation. The arrival of the Chief Enforcer an
annoys him, but it is the wolf traveling with him who wakes th
the predator in Diesel. The scent of mate clings to her, bu
but she rejects his overtures and challenges him on every le
level.
War may be coming for the Yukon, but Dieselβs battle is
